It was hilarious. Very funny movie, although it's hard to say what the exact plot was. It seemed kind of scattered to me, but it was a well done movie.

My friend, who convinced me to go see it, owes me $5.50 and 90 minutes of my life back.

    Worst.

    Movie.

    Ever!

There was no real plot, minimal character development, and only about four minutes' worth of genuine entertainment in the entire film.

However, I recognize that it's just my opinion, and a lot of people are likely to disagree with me.

Even if they are all wrong. :p

It's not a good movie, IMO, but it is funny in an inane sort of way. It's hardly the comedic masterpiece that many critics would have you believe, but there is some entertainment value to be found.

And once you see it you'll have a hard time not punctuating everything you say with an emphatic, "GOSH!"

I thought the movie was hilarious. Totally worth seeing, in my opinion.

Ditto, being a geek, although not nearly on that level. I can relate, which is helpful I think.

Wow I'm wondering how my thread reached page 1 again...

Yeah I finally saw it too, and I think it's totally worth the $5.50 and 90 minutes.

I think the reason behind so many people disliking it is because it had no well-known actors/director (because it was an indie film), but I was thoroughly impressed with James Heder's acting. I think he could probably move on and do more higher-budget movies, but it'll be tough after he played someone like Napoleon. That'd be like casting Jaleel White for a serious role. ;)

Saw it, it's got a few laughs, but it's much more miss than hit. More than anything else, it's just odd, odd, and more odd. It desperately wants to be a cult classic, making its characters outrageously quirky. But the story really feels like it's just scenes strung together, not amounting to much at all. Did you recognize the girl with the map on her back from Waterworld? Also, Napoleon's uncle was Lazlo, from Real Genius. That guy's a good actor, but I didn't find his character funny in this. Definately not the sleeper hit that's sweeping the nation that the ads would have you believe.

My friends had to drag me along to this and I barely laughed once. The credits were funny but it went downhill after that. I wouldn't recommend it. :(

I think the reason behind so many people disliking it is because it had no well-known actors/director (because it was an indie film)

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I love indie movies, but only if their good. [face_mischief]

I had no idea what Clerks was about or who was in it when I saw that . . . yet I loved it.

But then, having your girlfriend find out she just did the horizontal bop with a dead guy in the freezer is funnier than a nerd getting his glasses knocked off by a flying piece of meat.

That's just how my brain works.

    :D

I've seen it twice and I admit that it is a tad inane, but it makes me laugh none the less. I know someone who could be Napoleon's twin, so that made it even funnier.

That and my friends and I keep quoting the lines. And I find them coming out at the most inopertune times. IE.

    Mom: How was school?

Me: Worst day of my life what do you think?

That and just adding "GOSH!" or "Ugh, IDIOT!" to everything for good measure ;)

I have never seen a movie that had me laughing at almost every scene. I may have laughed harder at other movies, but I don't recall laughing so many times. This is a great movie.

I really enjoyed this movie even though I accept that I have no idea what it's about. I saw it with a very attractive female friend of mine, and now every time we talk we usually throw in a 'gosh' or 'ugh! idiot'. I don't know why but we really enjoyed and I think we're seeing it here again in the next few days.

Someone please explain the appeal of it, cause I can't.

This movie, was great or at least I thought so. Me and my friends at college have been quoting this movie's lines since we saw it!! "umm Bowstaff skills..." lol

I think the movie was made extra funny because me and my friends know someone who kind of acts like Napolean,

All in all, I plan to add this to my DVD collection when it comes out.

I gotta admit that Napoleon's deliveries of things like "GOSH!" and "Ugh, IDIOT!" do kind of get stuck in your head. It is pretty amusing. And I am really curious to see this James Heder in an interview as himself to see what he's really like. Still, I don't think the film's funny enough to add to the DVD collection.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet that I'd like to hear your thoughts on: Pedro [face_laugh]

That was the FUNNIEST movie ive seen this summer. It "flippin" was great.

Pedro was funny. He has no emotion till the end.

And Deb is a hottie :)

It was a bit wierd and random, thats what made it so good. It almost reminded me of a TV show or something along those lines with the little plot.

Great movie. Ive seen it twice already.

One of my favorite parts was towards the begginning when his brother is saying how good of a fighter he is and try to hit him, so he does and gets lazily blocked. Then the door bell rings.......SLAP!!!!!!

    ...very good movie..

No one else has posted it yet, so i'll be the first..

"Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter."

    BEST LINE OF THE SUMMER!

As far as people not knowing what the point of the movie is: it's a character study of small-town nerds!

I think the funniest part was when the farmer shoots the cow... just as the schoolbus full of kids rolls by. That had me laughing out loud for the longest time.

    OMG!!

This movie is so funny! All the things that happen in it are halerious. You will laugh so much. Its kinda a dry humor for some of the stuff that Dynamite does but its enjoyable. I've seen it six times cuz I loved it. If you stay after the credits you will see a *SECRET* clip. Its really cool..
