Natalie Portman is all ready to become a stripper named Alice

TF.n updated a few days back that Natalie had agreed to star in Closer directed by Mike Nichols (who she worked with in The Seagull) and also starring Jude Law (who she worked with in Cold Mountain).

So I got me a synopsis of the play it is adapted from and it looks like it featured Maggie Gllynehaal as Alice in it's theatrical run which is interesting because she's sister to Nat's friend Jake Gllyenhaal, I wonder if that's what prompted her into taking such a risque role (though, I know she wouldn't mind locking lips with Jude Law). Our Natty might just continue the little strip-tease she gave us in AOTC. Mike Nichols has been known on accasion to be a bit racy.

While this all may be good news for me, I don't know how I feel about all of you SW geeks staring at my Nat.

The play was very well recieved by critics and is now mentioned in the same breath as "Streetcar Named Desire" and "Who's fraid of Virginia Woolf" (another Nichol's film, I believe). Plus, it looks like Cate Blanchett is going to be in it which is awesome. I thinking Natalie might be able to redeem her acting name with a decent script. From the few pages I read on Amazon, her character seems a bit like her character Marty from Beautiful Girls which is a good thing.
