what does everyone think on this? i think its great. here a llot fo reasons for it.

why should you wear clothes when its above 70 degrees outside? because you think nudity is vulgar? nothign is sexula unless you make it sexual. is it because youre embarrassed about your body? no normal person looks like a celebrity. if you wear sunscreen, you wont even get sunburned, plus the tan all over looks great, no ugly tan lines. being in the sun is good for you! it makes you feel good, and you get more vitamin d, which is very good for you. being naked lowers everone to the same level, you dont know whos poor or whos a ceo, you just know people for who they are! but isnt nudity all about sex? no! there is actually a considerably lower teen pregnancy rate in nudist families. but isnt it bad for ym child to see an adults genitals? whats the big deal, its just larger and hairy, and if children grow up seeing tohers go through puberty, they suffer less anxiety when it happens to them, becasue they know what to expect and whats normal.unless its really cold, you do not need clothes, theyre uncomfortable, make your body less efficient, and they make you get overheated. and about your little embarrassment problem, go to a nudist site like www.clothesfree.com or www.purenudism.com and youll see that everyone looks different, and everyoine ahs their little problems. and what about bathing suits, why does anybody wear one they just make you less efficient in the water and make you cold when you get otu fo the water, anot to mention they draw attention to your genitals. when your naked, you actually pay less attention to genitalia than when you have abathing suit . hope you realize how rediculous clothes are now!

None at all, excuse the peanut gallery. Welcome to the Senate!

A good idea for a thread this is. You stated your argument, and supported with your rationale and sources. All without insulting comments. The Senate could use more of this.

The one thing I would suggest, is maybe posting this in the "Definition of Offensive" thread here

But I can see this topic developing.

Personally, I love being naked whenever possible. But I live in Washington State. I'm affraid my insecurities would not allow me to leave the house in such weather that is common here.

I agree with you on one thing. Although maybe you didn't say this... Clothing has long been a result of socialization, at least in part. We certainly are not born embarassed (pardon the pun). Somehow we learn to be.

my fmily doesnt share my values, in fact i just recently sorted through a lot aof mixed feeligns and figured otu im a naturist, ive never been exposed to the naturist values, and people who often go without clothes on, or much nudity, but i chanced upon an ina site one day and figured it out, i dont see why people listen to what society dictates, listen to what your heart tells you. i was gogling about the subject and chanced upon this site when i sawan old discussion about teen camps, and i noticed people saidthat the parents of naturist children made them follow the lifetyle, but the thing is it feels perfectly natural.

To this, I offer a suggestion. Find a nudist society in Alaska. If you do, I'm sure it isn't an all year facility. Clothing is more than just a dictation of society, it is something of a necessity in colder climates.

true, but in most climates there is some time of year, and in many all year, in which you can go without clothing. i myself am lucky enough to live in southern california. if you live in canada then prepare to oly be able to go nude in late spring, summer, and early fall, at the most. and with a well heated house you can go without clothing year roudn no matter where you live.

I don't find being naked when it's warm out to be comfortable. On the contrary, I prefer to wear something made of light cotton, to absorb sweat. On very hot days, unless one is lying prone on the ground, wherever one's skin touches itself, (armpits, elbows, under the breasts, etc.) you will sweat.

Nothing I hate more than going about my business with sweat running down my stomach. Give me a comfy cotton bra and shorts outfit any day over complete nakedness.

(It's also not comfy for the breasticles to go unfettered if you are a well-endowed woman. They tend to get a little sore dangling around all day. :p )

At home, I'm naked all the time. I love being naked. It's quite liberating.

    I'm naked right now :p

But I see your point. I also find it insulting that a man can go topless in public but a woman cannot? Why? Because it's sexual? Well, men shouldn't fool themselves because women find the same kind of arousal in the bare chest of a toned man.

There's a significant difference, especially as it has to do with general and personal perceptions.

Not really. A lot of women also feel it is unfair.

To me, it's seem just as natural for a woman to want to take her top off during a hot day while playing, say, a sport or at the beach.

Clothing actually has a lot going for it - it acts as protection against the elements and insects and vegetation, but also against hot coffee & food spillages, clothing also contains pockets to keep your wallet and car keys without having to lug a bag around and clothing is also great to cover up ugly arse bodies that have fallen victim to gravity, age, obesity various skin rashes and skin diseases.

Nudity has its place of course, but I don't think I clould do it 100% of the time for mainly practical reasons.

Also, clothes are great for disguising those pesky erections that males invariably get at the worst times and places like on a bus just before your stop. If you weren't wearing pants you could take an eye out.

Thank you for that, LOH, I'm sure people feel better for having read that... [face_sick]

With that, I have to ask; is this going anywhere except the proverbial glue factory?

Yes, we're off to Bondi to get our norks out!

Keep nudity for the privacy of somewhere I don't have to see it please people.

Except for topless girls on the beach. They can stay. Anyone who doesn't see the difference between a topless guy and a topless girl needs anatomy lessons or an eye checkup.

Just illustrating the point that nudism can also be rather vulgar and the fuzzy enviro/nature aspects of it somewhat overshadowed by the aesthetic nuances of the human body.

Perhaps regulated nudity should be encouraged only.

What about fat old blokes in speedos? Nothing turns me off at a beach more than seeing some fat, hairy, sunburned old bloke with humungous man boobs strutting around wearing nothing but budgie smugglers and a smile.

I don't think it would be fair to discriminate on the basis of gender, so all fat, hairy, wrinkly ugly people would be excluded equally.

I think nudity is a good thing.
People would work harder to stay in shape, it's hard to cover up your jelly belly if it's there for the whole world to see!
(*edit-maybe that would motivate me to lose those extra pounds I picked up in the past few years...)

People couldn't conceal weapons on planes, trains, and cruise boats!

    Everyone wins when were naked!

I don't think it's a good idea at all. I mean how am I going to get a date if I'm naked in a nightclub with all the African guys in there?

But it would be unfair to discriminate against fat people. They're still people inside, no matter what the outside looks like.hw would yofeel if you were fat and someone told that you were too ugly to do something? Btw, about the size issue you against a black man, its the width that counts, the vagina has most of its nerves just a few inches in, but please try to keep the rest of this non-sexual. Its about the people, not their looks, its about feeling unrestricted, not feeling embarrassed. Its highly unlikely that you would get an erection, at first it would be hmmmm boobs yay!!!!!!!8-} Then it would be hmmmmm boobs.....[face_thinking] then huh i forgot that there were boobs, oh well. Even if you did get an erection, you could just lay down on your stomache.
