This may seem like a stupid question, but in New Republic Coruscant, where do people go if they're sick or hurt? Do they have hospitals or something? Is there a SW equivelant of the Accident and Emergancy department? I need to know for a fanfic I've just started. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I also need to know what the SW equivilent of an ambulance crew is.

Hospitals are called Med Centers, I believe. ;) I don't know what ER's are called, if they are called anything. :p

I know that doesn't help much, sorry. :p

Well, considering that doctors are called healers, I wouldn't be surprised if hospitals were called "healers' wards." ;)

    Hi Sis! [face_sticking_tounge_out]
I doubt there is a name for ambulance crews in Star Wars yet, so why not make up your own? Remember they would probably be medi-droids.

Oh yeah, one last thing, why am I posting this instead of walking 10 steps and saying it to your face?

The most common name for hospitals in the SW universe is a med center, although I think in one of the late Brian Daley's Han Solo stories, the word hospital was used as well.

The terms "doctors, nurses," and the like are still common names. Then there's the medical droids and the various skills that they have. And if I recall from "Dark Journey", Han was taken to the Hapes medical center on a repulsorbed.

The following is from the Unofficial Encyclopedia:

    Air Ambulance
this repulsorlift transport is used to convey injured and ailing individuals to hospital facilities as quickly as possible. Essentially a transport airspeeder, the air ambulance is crewed by a pilot, co-pilot, a medical technician, and up to two prone patients.

    Air Cushion
this special bed is used in hospitals to help comfort burn victims. One of the few advances in medicine to come out of the Imperial armed forces, the air cushion uses a series of small repulsors to float the patients above the surface of the bed. This allows the patient to lie still without contacting their burned skin, and increases hygiene by allowing the patient to be bathed without soiling bedding.

    Fobosi Medical Center
this was one of the largest hospital found on the planet Coruscant, during the last decades of the Old Republic.

    Fobrini Hospital
this was one of the largest hospital found on the planet Coruscant, during the last decades of the Old Republic.

    Medxec
this term was used on the planet Coruscant to describe the executives of major health-related organizations and hospitals, during the last decades of the Old Republic.

    New Republic Fleet Infirmary
located on the planet Coruscant, this military hospital was set up to maintain the health of the home fleet.

    Orowood Medcenter
this hospital and medical center was located in Orowood Towers, on the planet Coruscant. The staff was made up of doctors and physicians who were either natives of Alderaan or sympathetic to them.

That's all the info that I have. I hope some of it helps!

    :)
