Nest of Gundarks

At the beginning of AotC Obi-Wan says he and Anakin fell in a nest of Gundarks.

Was that in TAS ? Or somewhere else ?

 

i remember reading something about that somewhere on the boards. but i think it was in one of the books between TPM and AotC. sorry i dont know which one.

It'll be interesting to read how Anakin saves Obi-Wan, as he claims in the movie.

 

lucas wouldn't make a reference to EU, it has to not have happened in any book yet

I am at work so I don't have my copy of TAS but I thought it was in there. If i am right then it wasn't that Obi-Wan fell in the Gundarks it was that he had a force sheild up protecting the group but the sheild that Obi-Wan was controlling started to fail and Anakin had the power to reenforce the sheild. I could be wrong I am going on memory and I read that book really fast...

Despite the fact that they were only cameos, they still qualify as an EU reference. Anakin's swoop bike is also an EU creation.

I don't remember that being in there but I am not sure, when i get home later today I will flip through the book and see if I can find it, I remember some negotiations where Luminara uses TK as a way to get some local politions to listen but I don't recall the lightsaber part.

and yes, we have made explinations for these things, but there is no denying that these things did initially splinter bits of the backstory

 

possibly in Jedi Quest.

 

Lucas saying the Republic had been around for 1000 years contradicts himself, not the EU. I don't see how the cloning cylinders in AotC contradict the Spaarti cylinders. Neither ever claimed to be the sole method of creating clones, and the fact that they share some similarities only enhances their place in continuity. The only one even close to "bashing" the EU is Fett's backstory.

Me? No, and I don't really see what that has to do with anything. I enjoyed TPM for what is was, but certain elements really annoy me about it, such as (but not limited to) Anakin and the Gungans. But what does that have to do with it?

Hardly, and I still don't see how saying "Lucas is not a EU basher" can be construed as "GL's word is law," but whatever. To each his own.
