Welcome to the Han Solo fan club! I have noticed there are others, but they tend to be inconsistent with posts, and I want to make a discussion that will stay active. Discussions will include, -Han Solo in the movies. (Including Solo, a Star Wars Story.) -Han Solo In Comics. (Officially licensed, Marvel, Dark Horse.) -Han Solo in literature. (Han Solo and the Paradise Snare, Han Solo, Rebel Dawn, etc.) -Who can forget Chewbbaca? He's available for discussion as well. -Han Solo fan fic. I love smuggler fan fic, so if you have any, make sure to tell me! That's it! To get a conversation going, did you think that Hans death did him well? That being betrayed by his son and murdered in cold blood was an ok death for such a hero?
Thank you so much! for posting this thread! In a word to your question, no. Don't even get me started on the entire treatment of H/L in TFA. As for fanfic, hopefulwriter has written several one-shots and short stories featuring Han as the main character.
I think it's a powerful send-off. The pacing of the whole scene is good with Han watching his masked son walking across the bridge then deciding to act. The stormtroopers take aim, Chewie watches on befuddled, Rey and Finn come in looking equally confused. It's well set up. Then Rey's scream when Kylo ignites his lightsabre, echoing Luke's harrowing cry when Vader scythes through Ben's cloak, has emotional weight. Watching Han drop off of the bridge into the light, knowing that that's the last we'll see of him alive, jabs me in the gut each time. There's a part of me that would have liked to have seen Han go out with the falcon doing something mind-boggingly brave and skillful. But the SW saga has always been about family and this scene is about love and compassion which ultimately has more depth to it. Han is brave with a big heart. No harm in seeing both those sides to him at the close.
You really need to add Brian Daley's books to your list. IMO, they're more canon than some of the films.
I want to agree. I so desperately want to agree. I have a friend who loves Kylo. (She's a girl. Seems like most girls suddenly because Star Wars Fans when REYLO HAPPENED! Sorry kind of a touchy subject. The kiss was completely uncalled for, and now it's the center point of the whole sequel trilogy.) The issue is, I want to be a fan of Kylo. I want to be a supporter. But I've made petitions for monuments to Han Solo in our park. I've done analyzing of his character arc, which took many hours of sleep. I cannot forgive what he did
Han Solo is my favourite Star Wars character. Such a lovable character portrayed by the legendary Harrison Ford. Probably had the most impactful and well done death in the saga. I felt so much emotion seeing that. And his vision to Ben in TROS made it even better. Loved the Solo film. Alden suited the role perfectly. It's a shame we won't be getting a sequel. I was really curious to see where the story and characters went next. As for fanfic, I'm new to it (so not the best), but he plays a major part in my current story. It's called 'A War of Time.'
I would love to join (how do you like my profile name?) Han and Chewie all the way in that Millenium Falcon.
