The band is releasing their next album on November 18th. It's self titled, and has a new sound to it. It sounds like they're combining Taking Back Sunday with Bad Astronaut.

I'm going probably to get flamed six ways to Sunday for this, but I'm looking forward to the new album. Is anybody else?

    I am and I'm not.

Based on the one song I've heard off of it I personaly don't like the direction that they seem to be taking. The radio DJs all seem to think that it sounds more "grown up" but thats part of what I enjoyed about the old blink it was fun, bubblegum-y, pop-y, and immature. This sounds to much like their side project "Boxcar Racer" I liked that but I liked that because it wasn't Blink, does that make sense?

Yeah, you're making sense, weezer, and I see where you're coming from. Though I'm sure they probably want to be taken more seriously, you know what I mean?

    And uh.. hello Clone?

A lot of their songs are pretty much the same except for the lyrics. It's okay without the annoying repetition.

Yeah I see what you mean but I don't think that this change will facilitate that. It doesn't seem more serious to me it just seems like more of the same.

The radio station where I live (Seattle) played the whole record last night, and it didn't sound like any other Blink record. It did sound more like boxcar racer, and I don't like that band.

I used to be a Blink fan, but now I 've lost faith in them.

I like the new album, to be honest. It does remind me of Boxcar Racer, but I don't think that this is anything negative. I like their experimentation with something new. I prefer that over the same old stuff.

I got it the day it came, its an awesome CD, I think it turned out really awesome but I have to say that nothing will surpass Dude Ranch. Dude Ranch is a classic, IMO, Its the best blink album ever.

My little brother got it, I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet though. I'm not sure if I will like it seeing that I am mainly a Hard Rock fan, I don't like the punk stuff that good.

I still haven't had a chance to pick it up (I'm broke). I did see the MTV making the ablum thing on it the other night though. It gave me a little more faith in the new ablum.

For one thing I always liked Mark's vocals better than Tom's. In the early days I thought that I wanted to hear Tom sing more but after Boxcar I wasn't so sure anymore. Since the first single was all Tom I thought the ablum would be the same way but the making of didn't make it seem that way. I guess not having heard the full thing yet I can't say that for sure though. For those of you that have it are the vocals mostly Mark or Tom?

Though I kind of miss their fun sound heard in First Date and All the Small Things, this album blew me away. I love it. Their lyrics are their strong point. My friend hated Blink 182 with a passion but now he loves them after hearing their new album. This is their darkest album yet and I look forward to more. I guess it's cool for me because as I'm maturing, their music is maturing. I was 15 when their last album came out.

Gotta love 107.7 The End. :)

I LOVE IT. Blink-182 is my favorite band, and while I really like their old "ha ha pee pee poo poo boobies" humor, I like this serious album too.

    10/10. 2 Thumbs Up. 100%.

Great, great album. I'm surprised out how deep the lyrics are. BTW, anybody see the video for "I Miss You?"

Just picked it up Friday and thought it was great. Heard it isn't selling as well as expected though. Don't see why...

The album actually sold remarkably well. Espescially considering it was #3 over a month after its release.

My brother got that CD, but I do not like it at all. A couple of the songs just use the same beats and rhythms all over again. The lyrics i think arent too great either. I just do not like it. No offense to anyone.

BUT, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is a great album and I like all the songs on that CD. They had some great songs back then but now it just seems all "rappified", and I do not like rap. Again, no offense meant to anyone.

I wouldn't say that is sounds like rap. It sounds more like positive experimenting with their sound. They're doing different techniques, and I think it's pretty cool.

They couldn't stay 16 forever, ya know? Frankly, it took the album a little while to grow on me since they hooked me with 'What's My Age Again?' Their fun, immature songs are the reason I got a bass and am now in a mildly successful band in North Carolina. So to hear their completely different sound was a bit of a turning point. People who don't like it have to realize they can't keep writing about high school crushes or getting dumped because they were immature-They're all in their 30's with wives and kids. That's a big step for anyone and I'm now glad that their music reflects it. I love the new album now-I think it ranks right up there with the rest of their albums(I can't figure out my favorite-They all have great things about each one).

Just the two cents of a loyal Blink fan.

    I just saw the video for "I Miss You", and what struck me most is that it was exactly how I pictured it would be. And I hadn't heard anything about it before watching it...I was spoiler-free. 8-}

What's interesting is I don't think I'd like this new CD very much if it were the same kind of songs as on their previous albums. The old albums were OK in high school, and I don't mind listening to them every once in a while now, but the new album really shows how they've matured. Huh...mature punk. Always thought of that as an oxymoron, hehe.

Edit: On a side note, if you're a Blink fan you should definitely check out Fallout Boy. Great band...they've probably been out a while but I just discovered them. One of my favorite songs of theirs is "Grand Theft Autumn", which is also one of their more popular songs. :)

The new video for "I Miss You" has to be one of the most original music videos to come in several years. The atmosphere and cinematography fits the song so well that it's eerie. The song itself is very well written and haunting.
