new opening crawl compared to old

What do you prefer, the original opening crawl or the opening crawl thats used for the PT and the OT on dvd. I like the new one betta, its a little further back and its easier to read. What do you prefer?

 

i dont know there was a difference. i know in pan and scan (pan and scam, i say) the left and right sides of the scroll is cut off. but it widescreen its able to be seen completly. is that what your talkin about

 

To me they appear to be the same.
There is little difference at all, you only see if it you're looking for it.

Actually, that's more the Saga forum that you're describing. This forum is exactly the place for questions that ask for opinions like this-- it's the Star Wars Community forum, afterall.

 

Well I, for one, did notice the difference. I did not, however, know that it was re-done for the DVD release. I will have to watch it again.

 

All that matters to me is that they have 4 "...." at the end!

 

I like the old kind better, though the new ones wouldn't annoy me as badly if in the "pan and scan" version they still made the opening part in letterbox until the first cut-away (i.e. the cut-to the inside of the Tantive IV in ANH)

 

They didn't re-do it, you probably just got the widescreen edition.
