Well, I don’t care much about Finn or Jannah, and I don’t go in for YA books, but it’s Post-IX, so that’s refreshing.
Where is my @! How could you, my friends. But yay. I also am not overly fussed by the cast, if we get Jedi Finn I will be happy.
Yay, gimme it! Interesting that it is tagged as YA but from Random House and not LFL Press. Might make it easier to obtain.
Very interesting that they’re finally going for post Episode 9 stuff finally! This seems relatively safe as far as that is concerned though. Like I don’t see any big swings happening within that plot summary, but at least it’s something!
Oh this had better put Finn and Jannah on the pathway to learning the ways of the Force. It was heavily implied that Jannah and her ex-trooper tribe were, like Finn, likely Force-sensitive and their FO conditioning broken by that latent ability.
Dosent the Lego holiday special has Finn try find Force sensitives while Rey try find ancient Jedi temples
Can't wait for the sequel, "The Super-Duper Final Last Order We Mean it for Real this Time!" ;-P But seriously, excited to see them do something in this era, and to deal directly with the whole ex-stormtrooper thing that was a bit underused in the films. ...bit weird they are still called the Resistance though...well, probably don't want to cause confusion with new faction names. And there are still FO remnants to resist. Yes, but that is a non-canon comedy, that doesn't seem like something authors would mind contradicting if they had a different idea. Plus, this might be even before that if they are still cleaning up FO remains...or, for that matter, Finn could easily come across the kidnappings while searching for force sensitive kids, like if someone he can to test just disappeared. Finally, I can't see Finn turning down a request to save some kids, especially since his mission isn't something super time sensitive.
I had the same thought. I mean, it's not exactly secret that he's not been happy with Lucasfilm/Disney, so I wasn't really betting on a Finn appearance in any movies or TV.
That's not the implication we're drawing here - we're suggesting Lucasfilm knows Boyega isn't showing up so they're allowing Lit to fill in details (as opposed to Rey)
Yeah, this seems like it can easily be a self-contained side story that wouldn't inhibit future live action Finn stuff any more than Splinter of the Mind's Eye meant no more Luke, Leia, or Vader. Mostly, this coming out after a long period of avoiding the era makes me think they have more solid plans for the future now so they can work there without fear of major contradiction.
That's what I'm hoping. The whole "can't constrain the movie directors" mentality always felt like a weak excuse for not doing stuff in the era.
It doesn't mean anything tbh. They will make many stories or even animated that ain't in live action about these characters. Infact the majority of stories will be in books for almost all the characters. its just quicker and easier to produce the material. I don't think the lego specials are canon. considering how silly they get, probably not.
The Graphic Novel for tRoS does explicitly mention Finn is Force sensative, so I'm fully expecting some exploration of that.
Lego time and again has demonstrated that it's the only one who has the bricks enough to play in the ST-side of the SW sandbox and actually have fun to boot. Other attempts have been timidly testing the water.
Interesting! I doubt there will be any major developments or revelations, just a fun adventure/rescue story, but I'm glad we're finally getting something post-TROS with some of the main characters.
