As someone who is increasingly interested in new republic military forces/law enforcement: Does anyone know if the NR cops that are at the end of Ashoka EP 2 making the arrests—are these new republic defense officers? Or are they NR “rangers”? Or are they CORSEC?? The Aurabesh on the side of the vehicles in episode 2 say “police”. But they don’t seem to be local by any means. Does anyone (especially those who have read the Aftermath series) have any insight into whether these guys are civilian law enforcement or NR military? They seem to carry handcuffs and have the fleet officer look…
I wouldn't trust Xiono to know the difference between Defense and Security. He's written as that much of an idiot.
I get the sense Xiono is extremely inexperienced and trying to come across as smarter / more competent than he really is. What could he do up against Leia, a war hero and high powered NR rep? I think he means well but is symbolic of the issues in the NR.
I was incredibly disappointed when they cancelled “rangers of the new republic”…I’m hoping we get a taste of that by following around Carson teva at some point
I don't actually know anything, but it would make sense if they were some kind of central police force, and part of their job is sniffing out Imperial loyalists
Defence forces should encompass all the military, paramilitary and intelligence forces in the NR, while the security force could only be the police and intelligence forces. As Hera ever been specifically part of Rebel Intelligence or just a pilot and cell leader?
When I heard the term Defense Force, I thought of the Defense Force that the Empire tried to push thru in TCW. The NR feels like the kids took over the high school and decided to put on a show.
After watching the Ahsoka finale, it got me wondering if the Rangers of the New Republic series was intended to come next. Now that Thrawn is back in the galaxy, it seems natural that Hera, Carson and other New Republic characters who actually care will want to do something about it.
