LA, CA Next Meeting Sunday Feb. 29th: Darth-Haskett's home

Our next official meeting will be Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Darth-Haskett's (Claudia) home in Pasadena.

We will mainly discuss the upcoming conventions in March/April. Plus, Comic-Con. Potluck style, plus contributions of $3-4.00 for Pizza are requested.

Schedule:

2-4 SW Trivial Pursuit. (optional)
4-6 Dinner, and discussion.
6:15-30: Departure.

The quiz will be hosted by Silent Bob West.

Everyone must be gone by 6:30 due to school, and Oscar committiments.

PM D-H or myself for Directions.

 

Won't be able to attend this one. I'm going down south to visit my best friend that weekend to engage in that geekiest of dorktivities, Pen and Paper D&D... enjoy!

 

DM: And then you are confronted by a....(roll of dice) toemonster.
Player 1: OK, we run away.
DM: ok...(rolls dice)..you didnt get away. The monster attacks...(rolls dice)...and misses!
Player 2: Attack with my +4 Medium-Short Longsword with +10 chance of vomiting
DM: ok...(rolls dice)...you miss! The monster attacks again and...(rolls dice)...HITS! You sustain...(rolls dice)...65 hit point of damage, which leaves you dead.
Player 2: Awww, man! (turns toward player 1) You idiot! I told you to play your cleric! Now im boned! And it took me 7 months to build him up to Level 12!

Yes on Garlic bread, and a salad with croutons, cheese, olives, and good tasting dressing. Tomatoes too. Lots of cheese! OK, call pervert boy and Karl.

I will redeem myself with SW Trivial Pursuit. Second place, BLAH!!

Based on last years placements, we should have some computer nerd make brackets (like in athletic competion based on the outcome of last time. )

But are we gonna have a TV available that we can watch the Oscar ceremony on? I really do want to see that, and the broadcast starts at 5 PM.

I'm a big Oscar freak...in fact I was going to try to be there but they gave all the bleacher seat tickets to last year's people since they cancelled their seats last year. So anyway, I would love to watch the Oscars, too, but if not there's always E! Online.

 

Looking forward to hosting the quiz. I already obtained the prizes too. There will be a few bonus questions in regards to Jay and Silent Bob movies. They will not dominate the quiz and they will be in reference to Star Wars. They will just be there for fun. My signature statement has a clue in it.

 

Gee, will most people be doing Oscar things then? If so, should we reschedule?

 

I want to go but I dont have a way of getting to Pasadena.

 

Ah! A weekend event! I am really going to try and get to this event, hopefully I'll be bringing my husband and possibly my best friend, whom I've sucked into every other SW fan club I've been in. Now are we all supposed to bring dishes or what? Is there anyone on the West Side who might want to car pool? I'm in the Marina, not far from Santa Monica and Culver City...

 

I would like to be there, but the Oscars are important to me, as well. Unless we want to make this an Oscar viewing event, I suggest that we move the meeting to a different date and time?

 

Yes, I have to say I agree. I had forgotten it was Oscar Night. What about the following Sunday? What sayest thou, Marshall and Claudia?

 

What part of town are you coming from Estranged?

The following Sunday is our Pinewood derby so I would not be able to host. The 14th would be fine though.

Located on Sepulveda and Ventura. 2 hours parking provided. $1.00 after.

Meet at the tables infront of Fuddruckers.

The time and location have been moved.

It will now be from 2-4 PM, in Sherman Oaks at the Galleria in the food court. Meet in front of Fuddruckers.

Let us not worry about March yet, we need to get through Feb. first. All I said with March, is there will not be an official meeting since there is a major con. on the third and fourth week of March.
