i have always found this a bit lame/odd
how come when the nexu claws padme she screams in pain
and yet straight after she is swinging on chains / fighting/ riding beasts and has totaly forgotten about the huge claw slashes on her back??
even whan she falls about 30feet onto sand back first (OW!)
now i can beleive padme is a tough girl but i think if a huge monster sliced me up like that i would be rolling
on the floor moaning, not swinging around

and if it didnt really hurt her much then why all the screaming??

    opinions NE1?

Well she gets slashed by the nexu and is shocked/hurt but they aren't very deep so would sting but not be overpoweringly painful. The fact that theres the adrenaline kicking in means she'll completely forget about it. In the past people have run on broken legs because the adrenaline has blocked the pain!

I just like the nice, clean tear it made in her outfit.

I never understood why she never bled. But I love the giggles from Nute afterwards.

What do you mean she doesn't bleed. Have you not noticed the blood on her back. Lucas isn't fond of showing any violence and therefore blood dripping from her body will never be shown in a SW film. And she screams because it hurts and then strikes back to attack the nexus so eh.... HE WON'T KILL HER. Pain is preferable to death.

That's my point. But it doesn't matter, cause it'll please all the masochists out there just fine. ;)

The one I never understood was the falling out of the transport thing.

Especially since when she grunts, she really does sound hurt.

the claws must have been really thin, cause the wound healed pretty quick

I've always thought her scream of "pain" doesn't sound real, and laugh when I see that part.

I always picture me as the nexu, slashing her for being with Anakin. :p

Actually I thought the scream was pretty real-it makes me wince in sympathy. Ouch!

It's probably like a cat scratch-hurts like hell at first, but it doesn't bleed a lot or for a long time.

Yeah it was definitley the heat of the battle and the adrenaline that kept her from noticing. Padme had more important things to think about in that situatuion.

Yeah, that scream of pain is on par with her son's in ESB. :p
But Luke's scream is a little more powerful cause it's cued with the music too.

"The one I never understood was the falling out of the transport thing. Especially since when she grunts, she really does sound hurt".

It's pretty hard fall so I'm sure she is hurt. Her will to continue and rescue her friends just takes priority. And she falls off because otherwise Anakin wouldn't be angry when he duels Dooku, he and Obi Wan would defeat him and no need for Yoda to kick ass. Obi Wan, Anakin and Padmé (not to mention Yoda) against Dooku is pretty uneven.

The thing that cheapens her fall off the transport is when she gets up and just brushes herself off and runs off, telling the clone trooper she's fine.

    Well, she could say.

"Oh! My back! Ah! Agony! A 1138 in the sand! Fetch an ambulance!"

    OR

    She could rescue her friends.

It's just a case of a semi-competently acted scene in a movie which has so many visual effects added it's got to be hard to be realistic all the time. If you'll notice there were times when even a great actor, Ewen McGregor, seemed to have difficulty pulling off fighting with a huge digital monster that wasn't there. Actors are taught to react to their fellow actors, but it's hard when there's only a stand-in in which to react.

Another thing that demonstrates Padmé's unusual pain threshold is her ability to jump from an extremely high pillar onto the back of the reek without so much as a flinch.

The Insider apparently explained that Geonosis has lower gravity - so the fall wouldn't have hurt her as much as expected. But seriously: talk about a groin of steel. :p

Well, perhaps it was also at the angle she hit-she started rolling, which would probably soften the impact, plus it's on sand, from the looks of it.

Well, it was more of a visual thing--there had to be a way to get the point across that the Nexu had shart claws, and that was one way to do it--by it ripping her shirt.

Plus, we got to see Padme's stomach...no complaints from me there. ;)
