The Force is not with the gays

Would-be players were discussing in the MMO's forums how the game might handle future gay and lesbian relationships - and Bioware freaked out, shutting down those discussion threads and banning the words "gay," "lesbian" and "homosexual." Says community manager Sean Dahlberg:

As I have stated before, these are terms that do not exist in Star Wars.

Odd considering the lesbian crush that Juhanni had on the main character if you played female in KOTOR.

Bioware did this? That's weird, because I assumed the big daddys in Bioshock were butches.

 

If you ignore Juhani in KotOR, that's still wrong as of some Karen Travis book.

 

What about Liara + fem Shepard in Mass Effect?

 

They shouldn't use a factual incorrect reason for banning the discussion, then. They should be honest and admit they don't want it discussed because they fear teh gay cooties.

More than likely, the same people making the game (Game Developers) are not the same people running the forums (Moderators), so I don't see pinning this on the Bioware game developers (especially the ones who worked on KotOR & Mass Effect) really fair.

I don't think "Homsexual" is a word anyway, even in the real world.

 

Can't blame them, since SW is a family-oriented franchise, targeted to children.

Technically, Asari don't really have sexes as humans know them, so it's not exactly a lesbian relationship, even though the Asari resemble human females.

 

How is being gay against childen or family?

 

Hmm...I always thought that because they called their children daughters, they were female mono gendered. I guess I was wrong.
