While most Star Wars novels have been adapted to audiobook, a handful have not. Also, many more have adapted to only a abridged audiobook that have skipped over key plot points such as the fall of Coruscant in Star by Star. The Hand of Thrawn audiobooks also suffered from this issue until Audible released new unabridged versions in 2013.

Which novel(s) would you like to see adapted to audiobook(s)? They could be novels which have never been adapted or novels made into abridged versions and need unabridged versions.

Here are a couple of I know of:

    Novels never adapted
    Coruscant Nights Trilogy I-III
    The Last Jedi
    Republic Commando Series
    Choices of One
Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor
    Han Solo at Star's End
    Han Solo's Revenge
Han Solo and the Lost Legacy

Novels in need of unabridged versions
Most of the New Jedi Order
Books 4-7 of the X-Wing Series
    Jedi Academy Trilogy

I want Shadows of Mindor and unabridged NJO. The Daley Solo novels would be nice.

    Daley books are classic.
I would love to see the Jedi Prince books in audio-form though.

I forgot all about the Lando novels.

Oh man would I like sit back and listen to Billy Dee voice those books with ice cold Colt 45 in hand.

If someone could be found to voice the Jedi Prince books while keeping a straight face throughout all the unusual sound effects and the part about Captain Dunwell and the Whaladons, I'd be all for it.

I am a huge fan of the older books Random House has given the unabridged audiobook treatment to. Some, like the Zahn books, were released previously as unabridged audiobooks; others, like the Bane Trilogy, never had audibook versions to begin with.

They did this to nine books total:

    The Thrawn Trilogy (3)
The Hand of Thrawn Duology (2)
    Allegiance (1)
    The Darth Bane Trilogy (3)

I thoroughly enjoyed them all, and I would like to see this trend continue. However, it seems that the the plans for these newly unabridged Star Wars books were in the works before the Disney announcement, and as far as I know, there are no current plan to continue with the effort.

That doesn't mean it can't happen. It would be great to have all the books mentioned in this thread as unabridged audios (I'd buy every single one), but I think for now, at least, some of the more fringe stuff would be a bit of a stretch.

Which books do have a good chance of actually being given the unabridged treatment? And how could we speak up and let the powers that be know there is a ready made market?

More Zahn books seems a good and safe bet. Outbound Flight, Survival's Quest, and Choices of One.

After that, my best guess is they may want to continue the story and move on the The Jedi Academy Trilogy? I don't really know.

But a more unified and realistic voice for what we would like to see may help. (Yes, I do realize unified voices are not the TFN boards'...strong point--not to mention, the sequel trilogy has left a big question mark lingering over pretty much everything.)

So hard to choose, but I went with Shadows of Mindor. But anything is great. I'm really enjoying the Darth Bane audiobooks now. It would be nice to see some more of the Tales from the ____ anthology stories done. And the Jedi Prince series would be so much fun to listen to. :p

I'd also love to see more comics or other media adapted as audio dramas like was done with Dark Empire, Crimson Empire and Tales of the Jedi, but that's probably a pipe dream at this point.

Then perhaps I should amend that and say iTunes needs make the unabridged version available. Which is odd, they have the unabridged versions of both HTTE and DFR.

Oh, well that's easy. Apple is an over-hyped and overpriced brand name that sucks and relies on slave labor over seas to inflate profits.

There is usually a link on Amazon's website when you go to the page to buy a Star Wars book that doesn't have an audiobook to tell them you would like them to make one. I think this is the best way to make our wishes known. As you said, Audible has worked with Random House to make/remake several unabridged audiobooks over the past few years, most recently Vision of the Future last December. These have been download only and not on CD like many of the ones distributed through Random House.

Although the download only sales price is lower, they do not need to print and produce a zillion CDs which keeps costs low. The only costs to produce these are the licensing costs to the author, Lucasbooks, and Del Rey what they pay the narrator read the book and the sound editing team. I have a lot of respect for the time Jonathan Davis and Marc Thompson put into those works but they make an amazing product and I hope they continue it. I'm not sure the Disney acquisition has much effect on this because Audible is taking the initiative to get these make these and distribute them and each one has been a best seller, topping the list for Audible's best-selling Star Wars audiobooks.

I think as long as Audible's subscribers keep buying them, they'll keep making them. I know these are very time-consuming to make but I hope the interest continues. I think Choices of One would be a sure fire top seller as would the Han Solo Adventure books. Outbound Flight and Survivor's Quest are semi-abridged (I think about 6 hours long as opposed to 3 like some of the Bantam-era books) so I'm not sure those need a re-do as bad as the JAT or NJO books. But the more the better in my opinion.

The Dark Empire, Crimson Empire, Dark Forces, and TotJ audio dramas were epic. They were full cast so I'm sure they were more expensive to make but if they could somehow continue them, the Legacy and Republic Clone Wars comics would be my choice to make. I wouldn't mind seeing a Crimson Empire II and III either.

For the Brian Daley books, try to get Perry King to read them. He was great doing Daley's dialogue for Han in the OT radio shows.

If you have a Kindle you can get the text to read app, where it reads the book to you but I like that better for non fiction. It sounds like a computer.

I really want to see Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor done by Mark Thompson. A guy who truly nails all the voices of OT performing the words of a guy who truly gets all of the characters of the OT? Do it.
