"That's the word your looking for." I can't be the only one who recalled "These aren't the droids your looking for." Maybe I'm reaching a bit with that, but still.
Never read the books, just saw some of them in my local library. On topic, these panels did just remind me of the books. Sent from my C1905 using Tapatalk
Obi-Wan has made potentially conflicting commitments. One to the Jedi Order, the other to Anakin via Qui-Gon. Anakin is a thirteen year old boy in this comic; what kind of man would Obi-Wan be if he did not continue to care for that boy?
Spoiler Obi-Wan was also concerned if they let Anakin go away, the darkside (the Sith?) might be able to find him. I think that scene was pretty good in saying that the Jedi realized, one way or another, they were stuck with Anakin. It does nicely to explain why Anakin’s constant disobeying of orders and his not-so-well-hidden love affair never caused him to get kicked out of the Order.
Would have liked to see mother Pran get some form of comeuppance seeing how she seemed to enjoy the senseless slaughter at the end. Still a good ending to a good series
Could it be because she's a woman? Seriously DISNEY star wars does have a track record of going easy on the girl characters
It feels like the fleet showed up ridiculously fast, but I guess there's no reason the two panels of carnage after the message is sent couldn't represent a few hours. Overall, good series. I enjoyed it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Definitely one of the best series Marvel has put out thus far. Only complaint that I have for the final issue is Spoiler there were no creatures Oh, and now that Sera confirmed that Spoiler The lightsaber in the holovid/holopic was red , maybe the masked figure from the previous issue was indeed Revan Nice little tease there in any case. That's my reasoning as well. Overall, A+ work. Good job Marvel.
That's the second Revan throwback so far, after Kylo Ren's getup. Wonder if they're preparing us for something big involving the actual character?
My only complaint for these series overall is that we are never given a reason why the open and closed are even fighting or what the difference is between the two
That's kind of the point, though. Nobody knows why they're fighting. They just are and always have been. Like Oceania and Eastasia. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It would be nice, if in the Han series, he visits Carnelion IV and we can see it post the Republic, but who knows what the Empire has done with it in the interim. When in the Han Solo series taking place? Between which movies/events?
It would have been nice if it tied back to Palpatine, putting a proverbial bow on the training of Anakin, seeing what he's capable of out in the field since he was tested earlier in this series.
I had been hoping for another Palpatine flashback, but it was a pretty satisfying conclusion. Still, this was probably the weakest of Marvel's SW minis so far.
Weakest? I respectfully disagree. As for completed works, we have (in alphabetical order) ) C3P0 (one shot) ) Chewbacca ) Darth Maul ) Kanan ) Lando ) Obi-wan & Anakin ) Princess Leia ) Shattered Empire As for ranking them, it's tough because there's content, but there's also the art. While the content might have been lacking the art might have been consistent, and vice versa. I'm going to discount C3P0 since it was only one, and Kanan was 12 so I'll take those off the list as Kanan would probably be on top and C3P0 would be on bottom. I also have to remove Darth Maul as it's been so long since I've read it that it would be unfair to rank it with the titles that are more fresh in my mind. Therefore ranking the "minis", I'd have to go with: 1) Shattered Empire (slightly satisfied the hunger for post ROTJ content, I really enjoyed this story despite the unconventional ending) 2) Obi-wan & Anakin (beautiful consistent art and great balance of flashbacks with the present storyline) 3) Lando (captured the essence of Lando and loved the insight into Lobot) 4) Chewbacca (very powerful bookends where the middle was weak, but the art was consistent throughout) 5) Princess Leia (at the bottom as it felt the most removed and forced of the series)
This made me enjoy the series more as a whole, but it felt incomplete. Which is not bad, as long as Marvel jumps back on it at some point. Kinda reminded me of Rouge Planet a little bit. The Coruscant parts, the weird uncharted planet. I mean, the two are very different, but I love the similarities. (Disclaimer, I just read Rouge Planet earlier this year and loved it haha.) I love the Sith, I hope we learn more about him. I do not want him to be Revan, though I do want Revan to return. I am starting to wonder if Revan perhaps started a fashion trend that this Sith, and Kylo (to an extent) decided to try.
Since Vader is ending and the Rogue One tie in got cut i think we might end up changing things up a bit. Maybe we will have the main Star Wars ongoing be an anthology or we will get a book in the PT and some other mini's that flesh out the post ROTJ stuff.
