Obi-Wan thinks Padme should be viewed naked (humour)

When Anakin says to Obi-Wan in the apartment scene near the beginning of AOTC:

"Ah, she covered the cameras, I don't think she likes me watching her" (obviously doing whatever it is that girls do alone in the bedrooms)

and Obi-Wan replies:

"What is she thinking?"

I mean, go Obi! Makes it sound like, "What is she thinking, she should be thrilled that people want to watch her alone in her bedroom!"

Did anybody else get this impression?

Obi-Wan?s only concern was for her safety. I?m sure Anakin, on the other hand (while he is also concerned for her safety) wouldn?t mind just ?watching? her.

he is there to protect her and what to make sure that she is alright...that is why the cameras was there in the first place..

but he and anakin could sence everything in the room anyways

Darthnick11, the term "perversion" and "pervert" refer to something that is altered from that which is moral or orthodox. What you mentioned is natural and a part of human nature, not a perversion. Paraphilias (sexual abnormality) are examples of perversion.

And as usual, master and apprentice couldn't last a day without their usual 'disagreement' routine. Ten years had passed. A decade! And still Obi-wan couldn't hold off on the condescending tone of self superiority. Sure, the 'theme' worked during Anakin's pre-teen years, but now?

Obi-Wan had to get with the times, Anakin thought. He wasn't a kid anymore. He knew what he was doing. Padme once commanded an entire regiment against a battledroid when she was only fourteen!

Fourteen years old, and she knew what she was doing.

Then, and now.

And Anakin knew what he was doing too. And as Anakin already explained; "It was her idea,"

But no, as per usual, Master Kenobi assumed it was Anakin's reckless impulse. Using her as bait? Yeah. That was par.

At least Obi-Wan changed gears fast enough to save face at his presumption.

"What is she thinking?" Obi-Wan growled. Turning off the security devices in her room was bad enough, but to remove the surveillance cameras?

Out right foolish.
Reckless.

Another 'Anakin' in the wings the Jedi mused darkly. To be caught off guard alone without benefit of an early warning or guard on standby-

Obi-Wan broke from his musings, his brow creasing as a stray thought burst into light. Their earlier meeting with Captain Panaka's protege Captain Typho and Padme's 'hand-me-down' Queen's aide Dorme came to the front.

Adequate secuirty measures had been taken already they said. Guards all around the building. Typho downstairs in security central-

But what about Dorme? According to Republic-Intel, Dorme was one of Amidala's handmaidens during Padme's tenure as Queen. Apparently she was also secretly trained by Captain Panaka as a descret bodyguard well trained in varied arts of self defence...

And in the next heartbeat Obi-Wan's brow raised a fraction as he remembered his last words with Padme when she went to 'retire' in her private quarters.

Dorme had gone with her...

The Jedi turned to the Padawan; "Her astrodroid's monitoring the senators safety you said?" Asked the mentor.

Anakin nodded mechanically, keeping his eyes on Padme's door. "Yes master, Artoo's got a full sensor array."

A smile rose through Obi-Wan's bearded features. "Good call my young Padawn!" He chuckled.

Anakin made a face. "Master?"

And with that, the young Padawan's question was answered by the sound of a whoosh-snap revealing the departure of Dorme from Padme's quarters.

Anakin's eyes went wide by the apparent rush, -if not state of dress- by the senators bodyguard. Garbed with an all-but-transparent dress shirt and glossy black thong, the young protector attended the nearby kitchenette and started rumaging through the refrigeration unit.

Obi-Wan exchanged knowing looks with the Padawn as the girl -apparently oblivious of the two Jedi watching- continued to pile up a plate of snacks.

Anakin felt his jaw drop as the girl dashed swiftly back across the room to 'tend' further to her senator;

And the doors snapped shut.

Moments passed, the master and Padawan exchanging silent looks-

Anakin broke the ice. "Don't worry master, I can sense everything going on in that room." The boy winked. "Trust me."

Obi-Wan crossed his arms, the grin still apparent. "I doubt your 'senses' are that well atuned my young apprentice." He said mock-seriousily.

Anakin laughed. "And yours are?"

The Master chuckled darkly. "Possibly."

"Don't worry we have Artoo." The boy added hopefully.

And Obi-Wan clapsed Anakin warmly on the shoulder. "Full spectrum holographic?"

The Padawan winked.

And the old friends laughed, previous arguments all-but-forgotten.

This was what being a Jedi was all about.
