Welcome to issue 9 of the STAR WARS Collecting Community Forum Newsletter!

Thank you for stopping by! So Darth Real Life got in the way and I ended up not doing a ToyFair edition of the newsletter (bad, BAD newletter writer!) Sorry folks so I?ll just trundle on and try to round things up. There will be some left-over toyfair coverage in here ? just not all of it. Expect this newsletter to be quite long since I missed so much! Please appeciate the vast amounts of stuff in here - because the coding on this 19 page beast was a nightmare!

Again - there are things I probably missed out on - I know nothing about Force F/X lightsabers - so if you ever feel like filling me in on up-and-coming products from this line - PLEASE do so! I hate missing out on stuff

Taters and Galactic Heroes!

The kiddie gallery of toys in the Hasbro booth gave ToyFair viewers a first peek at Artoo-Potatoo. This feisty little droid appears to be smaller than Darth Tater, but much like publicity photos indicate, he?s highly detailed and adorable!

Galactic Heroes

The popular and adorable Galactic Heroes line is still alive. Only a couple of newish looking pairs of figures were presented: Sandtroooper and Old Ben (no hood) and a Palpatine and Red Clone. RS is also reporting that Hasbro is going to be releasing toy lightsabers w/ a Galactic Hero that matches the Saber ? Vader w/ a Vader Saber, Obi-Wan w/ Ben?s saber, and strangely Luke w/ a Qui-Gon Jinn saber.

Wave 3 Figures

Hasbro recently revealed their newest wave of GH figures that include: Greedo/Han, Tie-Fighter Pilot/Wedge, Luke & Han in stormtrooper gear w/ removable helmets, Old Ben/Sandtrooper!

STAR WARS Saga Collection News

Hasbro presented their entire line of Saga Collection figures for 2006 at Toyfair, including the mail-in Stormtrooper George Lucas figure! Figures each come on their own pewt

So what's everyone getting excited about coming out?

 

Well, from this newsletter, just the Sculpting the Galaxy book. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to SS's SDVF Vader and 2 STs I have on pre-order , the Animated Boba and Leia/R2 maquettes (who doesn't) and the GG Royal Guard Statue . Plus the GH Luke/HAN in ST Outfit, and GH Obi-Wan/Sandtrooper. And probably lots more, but can't think of it right now .

I'm looking forward to the Vintage Saga figures & the Tatooine wave. I don't really collect Lego, but that Jaba's Sail barge looks awesome.

 

So I have a favor to ask from everyone. I really would love to include several collector reviews of recently released items. They can be anything from 3 3/4" figures, to FX lightsabers, books, statues, whatever.

If you've recently picked something up and want to write a review and get your name in the next newsletter, go ahead and PM it to me. Pictures are better, but so long as you point me to where I might be able to find some online of production models, I'm not going to make that mandatory.



As for me, I'm mostly looking forward to my 12" SS Anakin, Obi-Wan, Kit Fisto, Han, and Mace showing up. Then I plan to pick up Artoo-potatoo and GG's mini-busts of Maul and Chewie. I probably will get the Emperor and Qui-Gon also...eventually. And if I can get her I'd LOVE to have the Mara Jade bust.

Oh yeah forgot also want the Leia/R2 Maquette and am working on paying off my Robert Tonner 17" Harry Potter and Hermione dolls

I'm looking forward to getting my SS Obi-Wan, Artoo Potato and picking up a VTSC Luke (if I can find one).
