Though could Bistan be the nu canon version of?

 

He looks really great! Can't wait to find out who plays him.

 

This just became my favorite thing about this movie.

I wonder if he's Strax's brother. Or cousin. They're definitely related somehow.

 

Have they just taken a Sontaran from Doctor Who and stuck fur on him.... British director who like's Sci-fi so he must see the similarities... even being shorter like Sontaran's are... possibly a nice nod from him....

 

I'm surprised. I didn't expect more than one alien character. This is going to be an interesting bunch.

Ah, Bistan! I think this guy is going to be one of my favourites. Looks like a cross between a Sontaran and a small primate of some description.

 

Agreed. I love him already. Similar to the instant love I had for BB-8.

Though I'd still like to get an answer on whether or not he's simply a diminutive wookie!

He's a cute little fella, and probably a ferocious killer, too.

 

Not a Wookie. I really like him. There's something cat-like about him.

 

A little bit unshaved Sontaran.

 

Bistan looks so in keeping with the OT aesthetic. Like many of the designs I'm seeing, it fits right into the pre-ANH setting while offering something we haven't seen before.

 

That was my first impression too.

 

I'm happy there are Aliens in the group of the rebels. Lets hope they get a few moments to shine on their own.

 

Perhaps because of this leak, Lucasfilm will give us more than they otherwise would have at Celebration...

 

I like that they've kept what looks like 2 alien rebels under wraps. I didn't expect that.

 

I do hope he's a wookie suffering from dwarfism and not a new race. Just imagine Jyn meeting him, then turning to Cassian and saying "I thought you said we'd have a wookie on our team", to which Cassian replies "He... is a wookie."

 

I also like the character potential associated with him being a dwarf wookie. Especially in an ensemble film, you need qualities that immediately and memorably define characters. And the dwarf wookie with a chip on his shoulder would be perfect for that.

Yeah. When I found out that Tudyk was a droid, I was a little disappointed, as I had hoped he was a new alien sidekick. And then...we find out that there are two aliens in the team. Great stuff.
