Surprised this doesn't already exist. Let's talk about the leader of the Rebellion in Rogue One! What will her role be and how big will it be?
I didn't know she was going to be featured here and seeing her in the trailer was a nice surprise. Not sure who the actress is, but she absolutely nailed it.
It's Genevieve O'Reilly. She played Mon Mothma in Revenge of the Sith but all of her major scenes were deleted. She appears in a couple of wide shots on the Senate Landing platform.
Caroline Blakiston is still acting, and I hope she turns up in the new trilogy, but seeing Genevieve reprising the role here is a real treat. They have really gone to the effort of ensuring a strong physical likeness. Here's hoping for a Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa appearance too
If you ask me, the security for RO seems to be better than TFA and VIII. Maybe more people are interested in the main arc than the spin offs. If this is as good as it looks then that might start to change.
This was the biggest surprise for me in the trailer. Didn't see it coming at all and was blown away when she first appeared. Definitely looks like O'Reilly which makes this even better!
well it's official http://www.ew.com/gallery/rogue-one-star-wars-story/2552023_gallery-rogue-one-star-wars-story
seems like Bryan Young is also confirming that Lucasfilm told him its O'Reilly. well it's nice to see a prequel actor reprising their role and it fits given that ROTS was 10 years ago and this movie is set around 19 years after ROTS.
"no chance of ending up on the cutting room floor" unlike most of the stuff in the TFA trailers.....oh wait lol no hopefully she stays! I was excited to see her this morning
I'm still hoping to see Jimmy Smits reprise his role as Bail and it would be cool to see a scene of him and Mon. Maybe the final time they speak....
This alone makes me more interested - O'Reilly nailed it in those cut ROTS scenes (which genuinely would have improved the film and given Padme some degree of agency).
Changed tag to official since we've seen proof. I was so happy to see Mon Mothma in the trailer! And man, she really looks the part!
