hehe, sorry about the thread title, couldn't resist::)

Anyways, in Insider 60, an article near the back points out something I never even noticed before now...

In ANH, we see the ladder Luke uses to get into his X-Wing removed by rebel techs after he's in.

And no technical cross-sections have show a hidden ladder in an X-Wing to my recollection...

...so where the hell did the one Luke used on Dagobah in ESB come from? ::)

From what I can tell, the ladder doesn't look collapsable, so I don't believe it possible to have kept it in a storage area underneath the X-Wing.

Any other source ever touch upon this humorous little oversight?::)

Yes, I read my Insider last night.

Using the Force to collapse it and stow it in the cargo bay seems a bit silly.

I say he just left it on Dagobah, for when he would return.

Heh. Ladders to far for me. I draw the line at easter eggs, not film making mistakes. ;)

    LOL @ Jedi Solo

I can just see the last thing before he went into hiding, walking onto his ship...then running out doing that mischevious little laugh and stealing one of the hanger monkey's ladders...

"MINE! MINE! rehhehehe! Souvenir, this is. Come in handy, it will. Yes? Rehehehehe!"

Home-made ladder. Yoda had to do something while he was isolated that long, so he decided to build the most durable, powerful ladder in the Rebel inventory that helped bring down the Empire. A full-size replica of Incom Corporation, Supply Division's Mark: 65-34-07 personnel ladder.

Watching the movie, it looks like there are a few times where there are hinges that don't work with the lighting effect. Yet that doesn't seem to fit as they doubtlessly filmed that scene without changeing the ladder between however many takes it took to film. It also doesn't work since the majority of shots show it as a single piece.

Going back even further to the end of the battle of Hoth, Luke had to climb the ladder to get into the cockpit with apparently no one taking it away. Yet it was gone when he took off. So how did he get it back for use on Dagobah?

The only thing I can come up with is that there's a second storage compartment along the starboard side of the ship with the sole purpose of storing the ladder.
