Who wants what? I Have a many varied skills and am willing to help others out. I would love to see some alien Jedi and Sith. Also any thing can be done the only two restraints are
    1. imagination , that is if you can call it a restraint
    2. Money, yes it costs to do this. I have found cheap ways to do a lot though and I try to all ways find the cheaper way to do it.

    Jedi_Knight_Birr and PtrsonsZOO
Um yes I can do a lot with latex. I also know a guy that is amazing with masks. I don?t recognize the corrector you mentioned. Before we go much farther, can you sculpt? You know with the oil base clay we all played with in grade school. If so great. If not no bigy.

Check out this little link. There are a number of pages so look around

well yes. and there are two ways of doing this.
    1. the "right way" sculptit out of clay , mold it. clean clay out of mold and then blah blah blah.

    2. letx and nylons. I can explain more but it is easy and fearly cheap.

Did you see the Twi'leck at con in the spring, Oh and once the DVD relies event pics are posted then you?ll see my wife?s Twi'leck Jedi outfit. Still trying to fine tune the head harness.

But yes we can. The up side to the ?right? way is then you have a mold and we can make tons of them.

Well I do have about 50 pounds of clay at home... Wouldn't you have to make a cast of my head to scult the tails on tho? Hmmm...

Also I don't know if you've gone to the Imperial Outfitters section of the web page, but I'm looking for people to write tutorials on stuff... do you think you could do a couple tutorials? :D

Well I have good new and bad.
The Bad news is that Puppy dog eyes don't work on the stone cold heart of a sith overlord. not over the net, not in person and not even on a plater.

Good news is I have done a few and there over at the Grey Jedi page under the Wizards Tips.
    http://www.empire-rebels.com

Also There are beter copys of thows with pice and I even coverd jabas slave dancing outfit. Its not up yet.:(

the thing about head tails (luki) is the seam is covered by a head harness and so dose not need to be that specific. I would be more then willing to help get a good sculpt and mold if your up for that project. But I hate to be a pric but if your not intrested in working on it lets not wast time talking about it.

yay!!! i want to do some lekku, a lizard face mask for my barabel character, umm probably some hands and i will also nee to make a tail. but they barabel can wait for a bit since i wotn need it til CIII.

how much does that clay cost? and where do they usually sell it at?and what is it usually called? i would think it would be at my local hobby lobby. i will have to check.

so for the lekku i will need to make a couple of headtails out of clay? shoud they be up and down straight cone or would we need to make little curves in them?

    JKB,
Western sculpter suply. you want a med hard (no viraga jokes) oil clay. 5lbs is around $5-$6. then there is finding a foam wig head (unless you wnat a head cast but that takes$$$)

If you want we could talk this over some time next week at my place. that would also give me a chance to show off a bit of the stuff I have done.

NOT A PARTY a project planing and meet and greet thing. Only thows who want to work on a costume or prop and realy the head tail folks.

I saw on a nother thread you said
"i got one of the jedi holocrons from CII. i went sunwest ( i think that what it wa called) they gave me one there a while ago. "

Um what do you think about casting a few up for RMFF members? at cost.

So was no one elts in to costuming? There are some fun things we could do. Carroling the zoo it just goes on and on. not to mention doing things in costume with the 501st. arnt you tired of seeing troops and thats about it. I give nods to thows that have done the jedis and I just want to see more More MORE.

Ok, I just wanted to tell people about my new costuming adventure.

As some of you may know I am an Apparel Design Minor and next semester I am take 2 classes. AND I get to use all the equipment here at the school! :D It's very exciting they have sewing labs, draping rooms and sergers! Lots and lots of sergers! I'm very excited.

Anyhooser... I am going to be making a Zam Wessel costume. Basically I am going to be using Sintra (a pvc type plastic) for all the armor, leather for all the pieces that are leather... and I think that I may actuallly use silver leaf, aged for the proper look, for the helmet and every other metal piece. I still am trying to find the right kind of fabric for the body suit, but I have most of a sememster to find it :)

I'm just so excited that I have such and awsome place to work with all kinds of fancy equipment.. I wouldn't be suprised if they had dye vats!

BTW, I managed to update the Imperial Outfitters page... I'm still going to try and get some more tutorials on it. As you can tell by the titles I have up there. :) But I am actually working on it for a change.

I have a Jedi robe tutorial up as well... actually it's only partly finished. But I made a handy litte yardage calculator that will tell you how much fabric you need to buy to make a robe.

Hey Doc... I am sooooo into costuming. I'm a fanatic. That's what my profession is going to be. I've been sewing since I could walk... :D

And I'm excited that there is someone here with the knowledge of all this latex stuff. I think some alien jedi would be cool.

DH, I've got most of the comics with Quinlan Vos so naturally I've got lots of pics.

Doc, I'm like DH, into c&p but need more time in which to do it. I'm one of the folks working on the mountain trooper and I want to do a rebel pilot. I may have a couple of other ideas floating around my skull that haven't made it out yet. Oh, the holocron stuff sounds really cool, especially if we could put some LED's in them for glow.

Check around for pix from FilmCon. Dr David West Reynolds brought one of the Sith Holocrons that were made for the Visual Dictionary w/ him and I know there are some pictures out there, but I was having camera problems.

so I realized something. Some of you have never seen any of my stuff. Here are links to a small example of the things I can do. http://groups.msn.com/propsofdoc/shoebox.msnw?Page=3
    http://groups.msn.com/propsofdoc/shoebox.msnw?Page=2
    http://groups.msn.com/propsofdoc/shoebox.msnw?Page=1
And though it is not SW I have some stuff at
    www.Houseveske.org
Yes I some times am one of those klingons. I will say this in my defiance Klingon (Not ST) is a good stand in when there is no St to be had as has sadly been the case from time to time.
Darth Hair. Did you get my PM about the thermal Detonators? If not I just wanted to see what it would take one or two from you.
An x-wing pilot, I can help. I know a guy that has one chest box and a mold for the helmet. I will check with the guy tonight to see coast.
I just found out that he has Jedi training remotes. His normal price is $100 for a kit. However threw me I can get them for $80. and its dead on. This guy has an eye for detail that is just crazy.
I always want to have a few things cooking so lets talk projects.
Holocron I have seen some great ones and some not so great ones.
Hot to-Go to hobby lobby or a sports memorabilia shop. They should have a base ball display box for $5ish. Then Hobby lobby. There are some beads that are a 95% flat triangle in gold, silver , bronze. They have a kind of spiral / floridly design on them. You will need enough to put four on each side of the box. One in each corner. That?s 24. using a clear epoxy one side at a time glue these to the box. Do not glue the box closed.
Now if you can draw on the computer design the face of the holocron. One or two Japanese stile correctors (Letters) in the center and a nice pattern around that. You can print this out on colored paper and then insert it in the box. You may chose to glue it in place. I suggest using a paint brush and laying down an even layer of Elmer?s Glue on the face of the pic and evenly putting it in the box. The point here is to be sure that the paper is smooth. Note that Elmer?s glue dries clear. Your almost done.
Lights. Well there are many ways to do this. And a good number are cheap.
    1. You can get those free ?bud light? badges with a red flashing led. Coast free.
    2. for around $3 you can buy electric dice at wizards chest. Each consist of a small ball with 7 LEDs and a random actuator that when you roll the dice they flash (and beep) for a moment and then come up with a number. If you place two of these in the bow and don?t glue them down then you shake the holocron the lights would flash Beep Beep Beep.
    3. Radio shack has a number of kits available intended to help teach ?you how to? some of these could be used to rig a battery, LEDs and a switch. Coast varies depending on kit. Many available for around $10
    4. EL sheeting. I have not played with this. but my research shows that you can buy a sheet and print your design on it then the whole sheet lights up. This would take some experimenting but it could well be worth it.
Mind you this is only one way to do this, a friend of mine did his this way and I thought it looked pretty good. A simple way to get a decent prop. Obviously do not limit your self to these instructions if you think that sprew (part tree left over from a model) would look cool with a bit of hot glue to give it a deferent look. Go to.
Now I would want to sculpt it all up and cast it clear and rig the thing with laser led (these are just dam bright). I would also consider sculpting up some Jedi/Sith corrector in clear to be the ?holographic projection? but that is just the extra zip I think the project would deserve. Now I am not going to take this on as I am also short on time. How ever if one of you wants to do a sculpt I would be more then willing to help get a mold so we can offer it to all RMFF members.
Feel free to ad this to the tutorials if you like but I have no pics to show the finished prop. Try it , its not that hard.

    Found these
