ST Old Style Light Sabers?

Dave Filioni mentioned the new Light Sabers in Rebels are thinner & more like the OT Sabers. Will these Sabers appear in the movies?

 

Will they look like white sticks that don't glow then for certain shots?

 

I don't think so.

 

Thats why I liked the first shots we've seen from Rebels, the sounds are from the OT. Smart move now lets hope JJ has the same idea with Ep 7

 

Love what I'm hearing (though, the sabers weren't exactly thin bladed in RotJ).

 

I'd love to see at least one new style of lightsaber hilt in the ST. The PT gave us the double-bladed and curved sabers. While not exactly practical, a hilt with a knuckle now or cup design like an old rapier would be a cool stylistic nod to the swashbuckler influences on Star Wars.

 

As long as Luke has his ROTJ light saber I'm fine

 

I hope they don't use the ANH lightsaber because the technology to make lightsabers has advanced far and it should just be an easy process like it was in ROTJ and TPM.

 

Loved how lightabers looked in the PT. The colors are SO vibrant and looked great! Hope the ST lightsabers look like that!

Agreed thats one thing I wish they would go back and do for the OT.

No, the ST will still use the same methods to create the blade. But what it'll look like when rotoscoping takes place is difficult to tell. Odds are it'll be TPM/AOTC more than ROTS/TCW.

 

Ben Burtt took the sound of Lightsabers to a new level in the prequels so I don't see going backwards from that being appealing.

That's be like saying no music should be used either.

 

I just mean I hope they don't go backwards in the sense of how much the technology has advanced since ANH which it has.

In regards to the blades, they'd become flat, uniformed and boring by the time of RotS. No life to them. And the new sound effects didn't help, either. They were very weak. I'll be glad never to hear or see them again.

I want the sabers looking and sounding like they did in the OT. Much more spark, personality and danger to them. If they have to go a PT route, then please let it be TPM style. They were different to the OT, to be sure, but still looked and sounded dangerous. I'd be happy with that.

Except, specifically, for Luke's (if he still has it). It should look and sound just as it did in RotJ (It's my favourite lightsaber, I can't help but want to see it again).
