Ooooohh la la! (Classic Comp Game Thread) CCG

In this thread, you can come and talk about classic comp games like Sim Life or Sim City, Warcraft I and II, ya know? The classics! Tomb Raider! That original Star Trek one where you go around in Enterprise blowing up Klingon ships...lol!

I member playing Warcraft II as a kid. I love the game. Never stopped playing the single player campaign. As for Sim City, I never played that, but got hooked on Sim City 2000. Soon Sim City 3000 will be a classic!

and of course there's the new classic-Everquest! I did a beta for that for the mac version-totally free....I got addicted and thank god it was only a time limited beta test or otherwise it would've interfered with my school studies and my grades woulda sunk like a rock! [face_shocked]

I can't think of any old, classic Star Wars comp games though.

 

what about SW galaxies?

and why aren't you at the RPG?

 

SW Galaxies is new though, ain't it? I'm not much of a comp game RP-er. I'm more into the action/strat games like Warcraft II and III as well as sim games like Sim City 4.

I've always wanted to be a Jedi! Unfortunately, the world we live in is just a planet and we have no Force! Well before I get depressed....

I find it stupid that there has to be a subscription fee. I mean I know they have to be able to pay those who are constantly checking to make sure no hacks are being used but don't the companies make enough money from their sales anyway? If you make a RPG game, your company had better damnwell be rich. lol!

Yeah, just pointing out that that can be discussed there too.

As for the older classic games, my favorite would be frogger.

As the NES came out, the first and second mario games were awesome.

Older computer games...the origonal Dark Forces kicked ass, Rebel Assault, not so much in my mind...

 

Would Frogger happen to be that one where you control a frog and make it leap across a road and over alligators by lilypads? that game really strikes a chord in me...

^^^awesome oldschool frogger (well, I'm not getting it across that well, but, meh). Across the road, past the cars to the water, then jump from logs and alligators to the end. So much fun!

the games mentioned thus far aren't very old, so how can you call them classics? when i think of 'classic' computer games i think of games like Blockbuster, Tapper, Leisure Suit Larry, Spiderbot, Zork, etc.

 

I love Solitaire.
