I figured this costume should get it's own thread here. She's not too well known, but she's known enough ;)

I started this costume last June/July and have been slowly making progress.
The skirt is the easiest part of this costume.

The bodice has been proving difficult since my dress form and I are not the same size everywhere ;) The front base of the bodice was finished today, now to figure out the back and bead the whole thing!

The Lekku were ordered from another costumer in California (PM for the name is interested) and they are so life-like and comfortable.

Beads were bought off eBay in size 6mm Snow Pearl and AB Clear Czech Crystal Round (ebay seller acornlodgebeads). I ordered approximately 2000 of each bead. I'll have to see if ordered enough or too much when I'm done. The gray seed beads were bought in the garment district of NYC, I bought about 400 of those for the small star pieces on the bottom of the bodice hangs. The pearls aren't just pearls - from research on the photos of the actual costume (thanks a bunch to the FIDM exhibit) they are pearls with an AB bead in between. So I've been hand stringing pearl-bead-pearl-bead-pearl-bead... as it goes. Not too hard, just time consuming [face_hypnotized] - you can see a bead string hanging in the bodice picture above.

I've been using 3 types of fabrics, the first is a Non-Stretch Crepe-Poly (the real thing is silk, but I had a hard time finding reasonably priced silk), a nude poly for the bodice lining, and a nude netting (nude poly not pictured).

I haven't yet figured out what to do for the body color - maybe self tanner and foundation? The headpiece will be made from leather and sintra. Plenty of costume tape will also be used, otherwise every fanboy's dream might come true lol [face_blush]. I'll update this thread as I get things done :D My Photos

VA VA VOOOOM! Very nice! Your ideas are great...you could probably buy a taupe eye/brow pencil to lightly draw the spots on the skin, then use a sponge to blend them in. You can get those inexpensive pencils at drugstores for less than $1. I'm sure the gown will be beautiful!!

I remember thinking this dress was quite stunning in person when I saw it at FIDM. The beading is so pretty!

    You go Kristin! You'll make a gorgeous Twi'lek! :)

Actually, this character was much discussed around the time of the movie and has a thread linked in the index:
