According to BBC news, Richard Harris, one of Ireland's greatest actors, died of Hodgkin's disease on Friday October 25th.

    Go here for more info.

Here's to a fantastic actor who's screen presence will be sorely missed.

I've only seen a few the films he has been in (Gladiator and Harry Potter), nevertheless, I am saddened by the loss.

I look forward to seeing his other works, with great anticipation.

On the Gladiator DVD's 'Making Of' Harris made a comment that each picture he has done for the last 10 years has been his last. He wouldn't want to read scripts because if he liked them, he knew he had to do them. Thank goodness that he continued to make movies. He was introduced to many of the younger people through his role as Dumbledore and will continue to live on through his many roles.

actor Richard Harris was found dead this weekend , the only clues to his murder being a massive headwound and some splintered pieces of wood. A search of his son's apartment only revealed a mysterious note telling his offspring to "Swing away, Commodus. Swing away." Police suspect foul play.

    MON 10/28/02
actor Jim Caviezel was arrested in the London morgue attempting to slice open Harris' corpse with a 17th-century italian scimitar. "I lost my passport, see", said the american actor, "and thought maybe I could slip out of the country unnoticed inside Richard Harris when they mail the body back to Monte Cristo. I mean, the Bahamas."

    predictable Toronto Sun headline: "DumbleDEAD!!!"
