STAR WARS holds the the lions share of the fanfilm market, but I have run into the occassional Indiana Jones fanfilm on the occassional miscalleous fan film hosting board.

Who knows of fan film sites that host more than SW? (And dont say atomfilms, stuck up and lawyer paraniod)

Well, lessee, there's ATOMFILMS [face_devil], there's Ifilm, and I believe there's a section off of Hollywood.com now that's hosting stuff...

    Fenn

For the record, calling them stuck up and paranoid may be your opinion, but far from the truth...

Now now, Atomfilms has its place too.

And last time I checked they don't host non-SW fan films. (Unless it's SW combined with something else, e.g. Figure Club...)

    Rick McCallum loves you!

Atomfilms hosts a lot of non-SW, but nothing that violates copyright rules. You know the best Sw Fan Film of all time was not elgible for their SW contest last May. Silly things like copyrighted music get in the way, yet the most entertaining fan films of any subject are Napster rip-offs from end to end, and those are exactly what I want to see.

I know Atomfilms treated you OK Fenn, but I was a part of that Fan Film contest as well (a guest role in Wannabe), yet when I saw the paperwork I had to go thru just to enter I did not know whether to laugh or cry. Its called getting a grip.

Getting a grip? I'd suggest taking your own advice... I'm not going to go into this whole thing again, except to say that Atom makes sure everything is cleared legally since there is money involved... "silly things" like unlicensed use of copyrighted material can bite you in the arse in a big way...

"The Best SW Fan Film of all Time," as you put it, is a very subjective thing, and as far as I know, has never been (and could never be) proclaimed as such... and I'm sure opinions would vary wildly as to what that film would be... you yourself don't even name it...

I have no problem with the paperwork, it's part of the business... you think the contest paperwork was bad, you should see the piles of contracts and lawyer related stuff Lowell's had to deal with on MEN IN BLACK related stuff... especially recently, since he's jsut finished getting all the publishing rights back from Marvel...
And as a matter of fact, the new film that Lowell and I are just finishing writing (non-SW related) is most likely going to Atomfilms... I was speaking to them about that earlier today...

    Fenn

Oh yeah, and as to the actual TOPIC at hand, re: other film site, there's also MediaTrip.com...

    Ill try Mediatrip.

And for the record the Best FanFilm of all Time is DUALITY.

Now I am sure everyone will disagree...

There is a Best Fan Film of all Time Emeritus club, with past winners: TROOPS and HardWare Wars
