This mean their fighting skills are alos diminished or jsut their clarity of sight, so Palpatine could not be detected. I thought after Qui Gon & Obi Wan's performance in TPM would hthe Jedi would have put up a better fight, in the Geonosis arena. This also raises the question, if a single Sith Lord Palpatine is strong enough to weaken all the almsot 10000 including Mace and Yoda, , by himslef, thats HUGE, he would have the power to kill them all by himself, why does he need super apprentices? and all this deception and manipulation, his power alone could get what he wanted, unless his ONLY power is deception.

Does that mean it was a weak Yoda that Dooku was outclassed in a duel by?

I too have wondered about that line. I think it is more referring to a jedi's insight into the force (seeing the future and detecting certain things), but, really, i don't know.

 

Clarity of sight, I think.

Imagine a Sith and a Jedi, looking into the future.

They both see a fight in a cantina. A dude gets shot in cold blood.

The Sith doesn't like it, goes and has a word with the poor soul who got shot and tells him to be a bit more alert with his trigger finger.

As it turns out, thanks to the intervention of the Sith, and their manipulation of fate, the dude gets a shot off but gets killed anyway.

The point being that what happened was different to what the Jedi saw happening, because of the interference of someone using the Force for their own personal ends (ie. the Dark Side.) It clouded the future, making things hard to see for the Jedi.

That's my theory anyway...

Hold up. What exactly did you want them to do? Qui-Gon and Ben never went up against more than like ten battle droids.

Since Darth Sidious is Palpatine it would be sort of hard for them to go and do the behind the scenes stuff like leading a serpartist force and interacting with the TF.

 

Let's put this in context:

YODA: Blind we are, if creation of this clone army we could not see.

MACE WINDU: I think it is time to inform the Senate that our ability to use the Force has diminished.

Okay. They're not talking about fighting ability. It's about their ability to detect what's going on around them.

Remember what Dooku said about the Jedi ...

"The dark side of the Force has clouded their vision, my friend."

That is the key line in relation to the "diminished" quote, for it reveals what is going on.

By the way, both Mace's line and that Dooku line are AWESOME quotes.

I think Mace is referring to "clarity of sight", visions of the future, the ability to sense when something just isnt right.
Stuff like that.
