Padme's Disappearing Jumpsuit

Can anyone answer how Padme lost the middle of her jumpsuit during the arena battle? In one shot she is fully clothed in an intact jumpsuit on top of the pillar, then the cat beast jumps and claws her back, putting a few rips in the suit (and scraping her back viciously) and in the next shot her whole belly is showing with no trace of jumpsuit over it! How the heck did that happen? (Not that I am complaining, of course, EVERY guy likes the "Britney Spears look"...)

 

I never noticed this before.
Either someryhing happen I missed or thats a really bad mistake!!

Padme never fought the Reek, Anakin did.

 

If you watch the nexu as it falls back down right after she screams, her shirt flutters down to the ground on the far left side, past the critter... but you have to look for it on the widescreen version. I don't know if its there on the fullscreen.

 

I just watched the arena scene like a half an hour ago and have seen it alot of times. And I don't recall the Reek ripping it off!

 

That's because it didn't, because Padme never fought the reek, it was the nexu.

 

Ok, I see the Nexu not the Reek. I have Widescreen not full screen.
Fullscreen is so stupid. You miss half the movie, especially if its Star Wars and theres alot of backround characters!!

 

that's why that scene looks ridiculous...only the back of her shirt was ripped.

if the front was "ripped" as well, shouldn't there be SOME sort of scar as well in the front? anything???

they show the shirt "fluttering" down, but scene specifically shows the "alien" ripping the back part only...in other words, it was a lousy excuse to see her belly again. Without all of you "fanboys" going crazy, it would have been more realistic if she just ripped off the clothing that was hanging off in the back...if it was THAT important to get her belly into the shot.

 

this is star wars theres something called suspention of disbeleif,but you right it would been more realistic Darth Bog but then again so would secure straps on speederbikes.

you're right about the "disbelief"...Padme was probably thinking to herself as she was laying in the sand, "well, if half my shirt can come flying off for no good reason, then I can probably jump right up after falling out of that spacecraft moving at 100mph. (jumps up) Hey, it worked! And I'm clean as a whistle! Not even a bruise! Poor Anakin, he makes it all the way to the...HANGAR that I shouldn't even know about only to lose his arm. Poor guy."

 

Why her shirt? Why not rip off her pants. Imagine a thonged Padme with a blaster! Woo-Hoo!!

 

The belly-part just happened to go along with the back-ripping.

 

this beast was surely a designer, since it managed a smooth cut on her blouse and made it look like it was designed as a tank top. How they did get away with the blood?

 

Only in the SW universe, when someone claws at the back of your shirt, the front comes falling off as well.

 

I think it would have added some fun had Anakin made some sort of comment about her abs showing, possibly in the scene where he says to her about the diplomatic solution and she responds with calling it aggressive negotiations.

I kept thinking when watching the film, why did not Lucas have Anakin make some sort comical remark about her mid-section showing

Leia was all clean when she came out of the trash compactor!

 

Clearly this shows that both Padme and Leia have a force aura on their clothes. {Padme's force aura makes her clothes fall off easier and Leia's keeps her's clean.

 

Dude, that's one of those "never look the gift horse in the mouth" things. Heheh.

What I thought was funny is how Leia hair could be in her face one second and set perfectly back in place the next without touching it. ANH just before she jumps in the trash compactor.

Just an excuse to show some Natalie Portman skin. At least he could have shown the monster ripping the bottom of the shirt off.

 

Another thing Leia & Padme have in common...
they have never heard of bras.

Too bad, it would have been funny to see Nexu running around with a bra caught in it's claws!
Then again, everyone would want to know how it did that trick too!
