    Doesn't it look silly for Padme to carry so much luggage (almost 99% clothes I'd guess) in large suitcases (which Anakin lugs along) while travelling refugee.

    Don't forget about her HOT AIR hairdryer. 8-}

    ..and she can't live without it.

    I wonder where Anakin's clothes were. Wasn't he wearing something different when they were on the cruiser vs when they got on?

    Yes, it's really stupid. Most of the luggage could have been sent on another ship. As it was, they never looked remotely like refugees, they had a droid for gods sake!

    People would complain if she didn't have any luggage. It's a no win situation. :(

    It is a metaphore for the emotional baggage that she will be forced to carry. In AOTC it is her choice to carry this baggage, in E3 she will be forced to carry a heavy burden.

    It looks like she didn't need it from the trip to Tattoine. Maybe she's going to reveal her true feelings pretty soon from then on? ;)

    openmind,
    She had her own ship for the trip to Tatooine. She didn't need luggage.

    Why is it hard to believe a refugee has luggage and a droid? The refuges weren't necessarily poor, they were just leaving the planets that were loyal to the Seperatist movement. I'm sure some were poor, some middle class, upper class and so on. That and two bags really isn't that much luggage. A normal refugee would've packed as much as the could fit into a few bags and probably a few private momentoes. If they owned a droid, considering it was a substantial investment, they would've taken it too.

    Of course we all know Padme has a fashion fetish and can't go without a change a cloths every few hours, but hey, she's used to be a Queen. Go figure :D

    I think that there was a deleated line in the movie that went something like this...

    "Hey Anakin, pack your bags, we are going on a guilt trip."

    I didn't think those cases were big enough what with those big dresses she wears and head pieces. :p

    Maybe the head pieces are compact and folded but expand when worn, like a droideka expands from a compact size.
