I just got this for Christmas. I must say, that was the best three hours I've ever spent on a single film since any of the LOTR movies. Very exciting concert.

Anyone else have this and want to discuss it?

Wow... another live performance of Paul's Mostly-Beatles stuff. That makes what... 10 live albums in the last 20 years? How much more can the man bask in the glory of what he did 35 years ago? And how many live versions of Hey Jude does a person need?

Paul should be so lucky as to have enough talent left to record a new album of original material as good as George Harrison's Brainwashed.

Actually, I believe that's 4 if you count the unplugged.

How much more can the man bask in the glory of what he did 35 years ago?

With that kind of glory, he could go on basking another 35 years easily. :)

And how many live versions of Hey Jude does a person need?

As many as I can get. :p I only have two , BTW.

Paul should be so lucky as to have enough talent left to record a new album of original material as good as George Harrison's Brainwashed.

Brainwashed is excellent, no doubt. But leave Paul alone. He's trying to get rid of landmines. And I saw him perform live this fall. I doubt any current living rock act could hope to come close to a show that awesome at age 50, let alone 60.

No denying that Paul was an amazing talent. And no denying that he can still pull it off live. His performance at the Concert for NY was incredible. When you factor in that the man is almost 60, it makes it very incredible.

But still, he really seems more concerned with basking in the past than working on new stuff and moving forward.

Well, I would not presume to say that Paul's original material since 1982 has come close to the level he wrote at before. There are a few good songs, but most of it is average. And that still puts him above many current artists.

And at least he has the good sense and courtesy to reward his fans at concerts with the songs they really want to hear. Unlike some aging acts, he's not ignoring his great accomplishments and forcing a ton of mediocre new material on fans at shows. He only played two new songs when I saw him. And I doubt if anyone else there paid $50 or $70 to hear anything but Beatles' and Wings' tunes.

    :)

    I love The Beatles.
I might get the CD. But Strilo is right,The Man`s been living off his Beatle`s hits for a long time

Drac, glad to hear you like the Beatles!

And my point about Paul "living off" of his Beatles (and Wings) success is...

    so?

    :)
