It's December 2nd, actually. And from all accounts it sounds like it's going to be a great disc. I'll be picking mine up Tuesday.

Having gotten this early... I can't say I was that impressed by any of the deleted scenes. All of them seemed pretty pointless... most of them were really short... I'm glad they deleted most of them, really.

    That sucks :(

Can you give us a short description of each deleted scene? Thanks :D

Im guessing one of those scenes is the shark scene with Keira that was shown on the trailers.

 I never saw that

Was it in the theatrical trailer? I think that's the only one I saw.

I don't recall seeing any shark scene in the trailer...

Oh, and BTW, this DVD keeps up the recent and sad Disney tradition of not including the film's trailers on the disc. It does, however, have trailers for other films.

    I hate Disney sometimes.

The shark scene isn't there, but here are the titles of the deleted scenes, and descriptions I wrote of them:

Meet Will Turner (this was just a longer version of the scene where he is waiting in the governor's house at the beginning)

Carriage Ride (Elizabeth and her father talk in the carriage)

A Change in the Wind (Longer version of the scene where the weather turns nasty)

Only One Shot (More of Will helping Jack escape from jail)

Peep Show (those two pirates spy on Elizabeth while she was putting on the dress Barbossa wanted her to wear)

All is Well (More of Jack and Will in Tortuga)

Make it Last (More of Jack and Will in the Tortuga tavern)

A Bit of a Stick (same as above)

It's Begun (Jack and Will in a boat, looking at the Black Pearl through a spyglass to see if Elizabeth is on board; a scene of the pirates and Elizabeth entering the caves)

The French (longer version of the scene where Jack tries to say parley)

Not All that Big (another sequence on the island where Jack and Elizabeth are marooned)

No Truth at All (More of Elizabeth teaching Jack the song)

Accepting the Proposal (Elizabeth and Norrington talk; she insists she didn't agree to marry him just so he'd save Will)

Peas in a Pod (Elizabeth and Jack talk on the ship while they are headed back to the island, through the ship graveyard)

Let them Eat Cake (extended sequence of those two pirates talking about the first thing they are going to eat when the curse is lifted)

The Immortal Captain Jack (Alternate scene of Jack lifting his own curse)

Good Luck (more with those two British sailors who are always arguing with each other)

Happy Endings (extended scene at the end with Will and Elizabeth and Norrington, where Norrington wishes Elizabeth the best)

    Well, that's it.

It might have been a TV trailer but it was definately shown somewhere, just a quick shot of a shark fin circling Keira. This is when she and Johnny Dwep are thrown overboard to that abandoned island.

I've never seen that. And I'm 99% positive it's not in the theatrical trailer, as a co-worker and I were bored one night and went through it frame-by-frame. Could be a TV spot. I never saw a single TV spot promoting the movie.

I have to wait for christmas for it, too. Even though I know my mom or dad are going buy it on Tuesday and I MIGHT get to touch the packaging before they take it home to wrap it up.

I bet this dvd will beat Finding Nemo in sales.

Actually, I picked it up at a Kroger grocery store in downtown Durham, North Carolina last wednesday night. They obviously put it out way too early and they could get in big legal trouble for having it out.
