PLO KOON SPEAKS!!!!!

Omg, after the three movies and the Clone Wars cartoon I was starting to think we'd hear every background Jedi speak except him, which upset me because he's my favorite background Jedi, but in the new trailer he speaks!!!!!!!!

 

He didn't sound exactly as I thought he'd sound. I'm not too familiar with his background, but he sounded a bit too human.

 

Yeah, I'd have expected his breather mask to... well, make his voice sound like someone was speaking through a breather mask

Going to be good to get some Plo action though!
Edit: I suppose it's a bit late in the day for me to start wishing for a yellow saber isn't it?

 

Sadly yes, I would love a yellow/orange Lightsaber.
Lucas said nobody gets a lightsaber other then Red(Bad)/Blue/Green(Good)/Purple(Sam Jackson).

If A'Sharad Hett is in it, he'll use his Green Lightsabers? I'm not sure what colors he has. I've seen pix of Red, and of Green.

 

Ahh, but does Grievous wield Blue and Green? And Anakin uses Blue when he's evil, and Red when he's good. I think the saber rule is at some point between TPM and AOTC all the way to ROTJ the blue and green crystals were the only ones used except for the few Sith and Dark Jedi who used red, and Mace who was given the purple.

 

I thought that if Plo Koon didn't speak Galactic Basic it would have been much cooler.

 

I wouldn't exactly call his use of the Red saber good. He used it to kill Dooku and then threw it away. It just looked cool on screen and presented a metaphore- other then that, he could've just beheaded Dooku with his lightsaber. Anakin uses his blue when he becomes Vader so that the Jedi wouldn't be able to tell he was the threat, and he just didn't have time to make a new one- he was a busy Sith Lord.

 

I thought I detected a faint trace of a voice modulator in the trailer when he spoke...

 

I loved that bit. I thought it fit perfectly, his voice. He's described as a morally strict Jedi in databanks and character guides, and I think the tone of his voice implies that characteristic and he also has that wisdom tone to it, like all the Jedi do!

 

To me he sounds like a wily old war veteran, a guy who is very wise and has some things to say and we're finally going to hear some of these things

 

I like his deep scholarly voice.

Sounds a bit different than I'd imagined, but it's still a good voice. It grows on me more every time I watch the new trailer.

 

For some reason I can't help but think Plo's gonna end up like one of those Gandalf-ish characters. Maybe a sane version of Yoda. (Not like I'm questioning Yoda's sanity but he tends to err on the side of eccentricity).

 

I thought he would sound a little more electronically, like Leia did when talking to Han while still wearing the Boushh disguise helmet.

But the voice he has now is fine by me.

Ditto. I think he should have his lightsaber from JediPowerBattles however AOTC changed that.

 

His voice fits his character. The director of the series loves the character and has even dressed up as him in the past so We will be in for mor Plo Koon goodness.

 

And, of course, just because his voice isn't digitized in the trailer doesn't mean it won't be in the series. Just look back at the trailers for all of the movies to see how they used different takes for lines or added different tones to them for the final product.

 

Looks like you are right. The voice sounds noticably different in the most recent CN preview.

I wasn't upset by his voice in the original trailer, but it definitely struck me as odd that he sounded so "human". I'm glad that they've modified it to sound more alien/breath-maskey.

 

He may have spoken already in Episode III.

 

I'm also glad they made his voice sound more processed. It is just about perfect now and you know who voices him? James Arnold Taylor, the guy who voices Obi-Wan!

 

I already reallylike Plo Koon. The clip from the preview special was great. He kind of reminds me of Optimus Prime with the face mask and voice(before they decided to show his mouth in the movie and the new cartoon. Sorry but that is just WRONG!)

 

I thought it would be more mechanical as well but then I thought, it isn't a vocabulator or anything. Maybe it is just a simple breathmask. I mean if we as humans out on a oxygen mask, our voices are just a little muted.
