Believe it or not, but back in middle school, my best friend got me into the Pokemon series. I haven't seen it in years, but I just turned on WB and guess what was on...

Well, Meowth has apparently befriended Picachu, and I noticed that while the latter can only say "Pica" or "Chu," Meowth is capable of full-blown sentences, sometimes even all out paragraphs (three or more sentences at a time).

    How is this possible?

There was an episode of the TV show that explained this, I think. :p

He used to be a stray, until he took up lodging in an attic. The attic was of an english-teaching class, where as the class learned the language, Meowth did too.

This question has puzzled tenth graders for years now. Some hold that Meowth can talk, and cite the TV show as evidence. Others point out that it never talks in the game. Others still laugh at the kids who debate this, explaining that since, although the game may be mildly entertaining, the TV show is crap, but in any case it's fictional and not worth pondering. Many tenth graders cannot accept this last idea, and continue to relentlessly debate the most minute details with relish and vigor.

Many of these grow up to be Star Wars people.

Do Pokemons need to use the bathroom?

We know that they eat, but do they not need to dispose of waste material? Or is that what they do inside of their Pokeballs?

According to the TV show, there was a hot female meowth that he was interested in. But because she had a rich owner and he was poor, he couldn't impress her. So he taught himself to speak english. But he was still rejected.

Yes, and then they outgrow that phase and enter into a more adult phase... why or why not the NJO is or isn't Canon. [face_tongue]

You see, Valyn, Pokemon have advanced digestive systems in which "waste" material is reprocessed in a cycle that allows every last iota of nutrients to be stored and then sucked out until there is no "waste" left. Afterwords, the Pokemon will repeat the cycle; repeatedly digesting the same thing until there is nothing left.

This basically the same principle behind the fact that "new versions" of the Pokemon games continue to be released, despite the fact that nothing really novel has happened since the first "version". But then, the public will consume anything.

That depends on which language is playing on the TV.

I always thought it was some dialect of "Stilted Evil-Cartoon-Cat-Thing Speak".

meowth in team rocket is the only meowth that can talk, which explains why none of them talk in the game.

Interesting theory. However, months of in-depth research have shown that no one/nothing in the game talks at all, even though we are led to believe that they are. So the same could be said of Meowth. If one wanted to say anything about Meowth, that is.

On a related note, has anyone noticed that the recording of each Pokemon "call" is always the same? For that matter, what kind of call is it? Is it a mating call, or a warning, or are they announcing the fact that their respective action figures, cards, pillowcases, bedsheets, backpacks, journals, watches, posters, and toilet paper will soon be available at a store near you?

True, but most experts agree that because Yellow Version was plainly a cheap marketing ploy designed to cash in on the crappy TV series (and perhaps thereby create more spinoff merchandise), it doesn't count.

Plus, we don't know that it was actually talking. We only see a dialog box. But then, we weren't paying much attention.

i decided it was super dumb

Most experts agree on this as well.
