Ponc Gavrisom was appointed temporary Chief of State when Leia took a leave of absence. He than became full-time Chief and signed the peace treaty with the Empire. Borsk Fey'lya was his sucessor. As for now,...I too wonder what happened to ol' "Puffers".

 

He's not known as Puffers anymore. After a scandel he changed his name to P. Gavvy.

Seriously, he probably just represents his sector in the Senate now, assuming he survived the fall of Coruscant.

I bet that the candidates are Pwoe, that guy from Alderaan, and Michael Dukakis.

Anyway, the Alderaanian's name is Councilor Cal Omas. There's also the missing Wookiee, Councilor Triebakk.

And what about the other members of the Advisory Council?

I just hope that Leia doesn't run. That'd be really corny. Personally, I'd like to see Ponc or some new person to run.

IIRC Walter Jon Williams mentioned something about Pwoe being Chief of State, whether he was referring to his "self appointment" or him winning an election. I don't know.

Kuna: I don't think that any of the members of the council other than Trebiakk and Omas would want to run against Pwoe since they seem to be his entourage now.

Xie: I think Williams means Pwoe's self appointment since it would be a really big slip on the author's part to give away the results of the election before the book even comes out.

 

Gavrisom (or P. Gavvy) has probably retired. Although it is still possible he remained a senator. But for now he's in EU limbo, probably making a new rap album.

 

Good question. my bet is that P. Gavvy was killed by the Vong.
