poodoo =/= poo

"Poodoo" is Huttese for "Fodder". And observe:

fod·der n.
Feed for livestock, especially coarsely chopped hay or straw.

Whoever started getting the impresion that it means "poo" or "crap" or anything along those lines is quite wrong. Fodder is generally used in a derogatory way, sure, because it's a lowly sort of thing to be bantha food. But it doesn't mean "poo". Never has, never will.

Actually, "poodoo" in Huttese has two meanings- "fodder" and, as a slang term, "poop" or the curse word meaning "poop", which isn't appropriate to post here.


Anyways, Burtt and the gang opted to go with the less..."offensive" description when making the captions for the movie. So really it does mean fodder....and it does mean poop.

I'm sorry, but when someone has their fancy schmancy racing pod explode there's no way they're going to exclaim, "Feed for livestock!". So it definitely does have a dual meaning.

 

Just say "poodoo" out loud and try to retain your dignity.
