Where's that new member GoogleIt? You're looking for .bip files IIRC. I can't remember, it's been awhile since I last worked with them. I think SciFi3d has a collection of them, with some sword fighting animations.

Scifi3d ? I've never seen any .bip files there.

Yeah, I think I was wrong then. I just did a really quick search and didn't find anything offhand. I can't remember where I got those animations, and no, I don't have them anymore. I'm now Mac-based, and well, aside from Intel's, 3ds Max isn't of much use to me these days.

I remember awhile ago some guy posted a clip of him fighting cgi clones. I think he mentioned using a site to get animations. Though I can't find the topic. That darn search button doesn't work.

I've never seen that there, but thanx! This site looks promising http://stockmoves.e-motek.com . The only problem is that I don't know how to apply these in Max, and those bipeds look like they're from an older version. Will they still work with 3ds max 7.0 or 8.0?

No, they don't work with 7. I'm sorry I haven't said anything, but I tried it once, and it didn't work. Maybe I was doing it wrong, I dunno. Go for it. I just animate using Endorphin 2.0, and then export the .fbx or .bvh files and apply them in 3ds. Hope that helps a little.

Damn! :_| I guess I could try that program, but I never animate well. I always use the wrong amount of keyframes. I also can't make the motion realistic.

As far as I know, all .bip animations from previous versions of 3ds Max should work with 3ds Max 8, I think there have been issues with some animations, but it shouldn't be an issue with all animations---heck I've even used some .bip animations made with 3ds Max 4 and they still work.

But I stilldon't know how to apply those animations, or how u put a mesh on it. I just saw the demo reel for endorphin it looks fantastic!

Then how do you know you need .bip animations?

Why don't you look into using Bipeds before you start working on your animation.

There is a really great section of the manual on Character Studio - have you read that? It really helped me when I had questions about that sort of thing.

One of those links from Sic-fi is from my site and I know they work for sure!

TurboSquid has bips too...just may have to pay though.
