I plan to watch all ten Star Wars movies leading up to Celebration over the next ten days. I will begin this evening, after a long day at work, with TPM. All are welcome to join me and comment on the memories and observations along the way. I will be watching them in chronological order. May the Force be with you!

The end of TPM with Dual of the Fates and the Celebration music at the end is pure joy and some of my favorite Star Wars memories
I worked at Toys R Us at the time and remember working "Force Friday" at Midnight
This was also when Lego got the SW license. A lot of great memories.
Now only if I could find my awesome Maul tie dye shirt!

I've been watching Clone Wars as it leaves Netflix on the 7th! Since it seems like we won't be getting any showings of the movies at Celebration, I'll end up doing my re-watch of the films after clone wars is gone.

I don't have time to watch them all now. Only got 7 more nights at home, 8 more until we fly. Oh it feels good!

Have there been any rumors about screenings at Celebration. Sort of shocking if they are not doing that, kind of a bummer.

Sadly not, just the D23 screening of ROTJ across town on the Saturday.

I have too much to do to have time for a marathon before I leave, but I'm hoping to get through Solo at least some times in the weekend.

Same. I was ROTJ is my favourite and it's nice to actually be able to go to a D23 screening for once, but I really had my heart set on the Prequels in 3D.

There will never be a more anticipated movie than TPM in my lifetime. I will never forget the excitement leading up to it. Nothing compares to that opening night experience at the Ziegfeld Theatre, and spending time on line with my best friend prior to then. Although it is my least favorite Star Wars movie, the nostalgia is inescapable. I did not even mind seeing Jar Jar again. It was as if I had missed an annoying old friend. Qui-Gon is great. We now know that he was right about the Jedi all along.

I agree about TPM. It’s like as I get older, I cherish it more. I have to say, the CW is what turned me around on Jar Jar, he became more quirky and less annoying to me in them and it kind of passed over to the movies. And the scene when they are going through the planet core and Jar Jar is listing everything that is wrong and asking Qui Gon when he think they will be in trouble? I relate to that now lol. Even Jake Lloyd’s line delivery, I just feel bad for him now instead of rolling my eyes.

And yeah I remember all the promo and excitement for the movie release, it was everywhere

Poor Jar Jar. He entertained children, and was never fully appreciated by adults. Now he entertains children as a clown on the streets of Theed, and is not fully appreciated by adults on the streets of Theed. Chuck Wendig is brilliant.

His fate made me sad. Being a clown and devastated about his hand in the fall of the Republic when he was just manipulated like everyone else was

Jar Jar in clone wars is genuinely funny to me. Watched the episode yesterday where he and Bail had to convince the toydarians to let them use their planet to stage supplies. Him setting the dinner table had me cracking up. Clone Wars Jar Jar is still super socially awkward and weird, but he's also kinda smart, so his mumbling about the way he set the plates being modern art, combined with the way Ahmed delivered the lines, was a perfect recipe for my funny bone. If Jar Jar had been like that in TpM I think he'd have been loved a lot more.

YES! Also his episodes in the Lost Missions with Mace Windu where Mace is like anti Jar Jar and comes to appreciate him is so meaningful. Or when he impersonates the leader of the Gungans cause the leader was poisoned to go against the separatists. CW Jar Jar really brings depth to the character and I wish more people could see him that way.

You know, another TPM scene that kills me every time now is when Anakin and Shmi says goodbye and he asks her if they will see each other again and she asks him how he feels in his heart and he says yes, he guesses and she replies that they will. To know that the next time she will die in his arms is just heartbreaking. And then when she goes "Now, be brave and don't look back. Don't look back." and the music swells :_|:_|

I haven't actually seen the Lost Missions yet! Looking forward to doing that now! Going to have to buy the whole series soon. Really wish Disney + was launching now, lol. I'm sad TCW is leaving Netflix.

I remember leaving the theater on opening night of AOTC, and exclaiming "He did it! He pulled it off!" I wish that I felt the same way about it now. I understand why many consider it to be their least favorite Star Wars movie. Regardless, there are many things to appreciate. I enjoy the film noir detective story set on Kamino. Watching Obi-Wan play the role of an investigator is always fun, particularly when he is forced to show his more scrappy and less refined side. The addition of another Hammer Films actor to a Star Wars movie was great. I also enjoy the Ray Harryhausen-inspired monsters of the arena battle. Even some of the love story is redeemable. The scenery in those scenes is amazing. I will also never forget seeing Yoda's lightsaber for the first time. I nearly passed out in the theater. It is just not enough to make it one of my favorites. I look forward to watching ROTS this evening.

I think AOTC still remains the Star Wars film I saw most at the cinema. It's by no means my favourite Star Wars movie, not even my favourite Prequel, but I do like it and I just had much more free time back then. It was my last year in college, I remember missing a day to go and see the midnight screening in London (which was introduced by Rick McCallum), and then when term ended going with my friend to see it in the afternoon. Would never have guessed at the time but that ended up being the first movie I went to see with my wife! I certainly miss having that much free time.
