    I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and I'm wondering if there is any way to get these formats to work. Because when I import, it only adds the audio to the timeline.

    EDIT:

    Or here is more details about the file, but I do think it's Xvid & Dvix that PP cannot handle:

    General
    Size = 85249 KB (83 MB)
    Length = 00:05:19
    Demuxer = avi

    Video
    Resolution = 512 x 384
    Aspect ratio = 1.3333
    Format = DX50
    Bitrate = 762 kbps
    Frames per second = 25.000
    Selected codec = ffodivx

    Initial Audio Stream
    Bitrate = 1411 kbps
    Rate =44100 Hz
    Channels =2
    Selected codec = pcm

    As far as I know, AE can't import xvid or divx, but exporting them works fine. I suppose it's the same thing with premiere, but I don't know, I stopped using it a year ago. Just find a divx to mov converter, convert it to a quikctime file, and you won't have any problems.

    Most NLE's are incapable to handle DivX or Xvid (since they are both based on the same algorithms it won't matter which).

    I don't know why but it just is like that :p

    It's just not doable. Just convert your files to a png or TGA sequence for no quality loss and import it as a image sequence in Premiere, set footage interpretation (right click footage ---> interpret footage) and your on your way. :)

    Very good, quick and free convertor would be:

    Bink and Smacker - Radgametools

    Or direct download newest version

    :D

    Thanks, though.. I solved it by installing a codec package on my computer.

    FYI, you can lock it yourself. :p

    EDIT: Oops, I think you can only do that if you can still edit it though...
