Saga Prequel vs Sequels....

Does anyone feel like the sequel trilogy makes you appreciate the prequels more? I love the originals, obviously, and loved the prequels when they came out. In comparison, the sequels seem kind of soulless (apologies to those who love them!) compared to the other two trilogies. They aren’t terrible films or anything like that, they just don’t seem to have the life and the story that the other ones do. Lucas had an original, interesting story to tell, and I think I appreciate the prequels more after seeing the sequels. What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure the ST made me appreciate the Prequels any better or more but the Sequels sure raised the stakes as to just how poor a SW movie can be in the wrong hands.

 

No. I liked the PT more than the OT anyway before the ST. The ST has shown me that trying to copy the OT is a bad idea tho

 

No... over the holidays I put all the SW films on again and the prequels were just as mediocre/bad as they've always been. They are just bad in a different way from the ST. (and yes, I know some of you like them - that's great - this is obviously just my opinion. I'm honestly glad you like them - anything that brings happiness to people is a good thing).

I do think the PT had a lot more potential - since they at least had a reasonably coherent story.


I'm just an old curmudgeon though. Rogue One is IMO the only great SW film that's been made since 1983 (so I guess I don't hate everything lol)
