Hello, and please forgive my ignorance on both being a neophyte of the jedi forums and my pronunciation question. However my question is this: How do you pronounce the name of Vader's flagship the "Executor" My friend brought up a good point recently. And that is that the ship is pronounced "executor" as in the executor of a company, while I upon reading the name in the star wars novels immediately pronounced it as executor as in an executionist because of it's nasty implications and the fact that it was built solely for the purpose of, well destroying things. However my friend brought up a good point in pronouncing it his way and that is that it was because it was the command ship of large fleets hence the large powerful executive of a large company.

Please let me know if you can clear this up for me.
Sorry about being so long winded.

I believe it's pronounced the same way an executor of a will would be pronounced.

By the way, welcome to the boards. You may find a better response or information in one of the Star Wars movie related forums. But you're still welcomed to post here as much as you'd like, there's a lot of helpful threads - such as the Map of the Boards or Glossary. Try to make sure when starting a thread that it's in the right forum, sometimes lurking (reading before posting) helps out a lot.

Enjoy your stay! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask them.
