“Encrypted and sent.” Jika Bale had a smile on his face when he saw the nod given to him and Magin Bhik by Bail Organa.

“I have more messages to send but you Jika have to see what's new in the stable and...”

“With me princess Lelila. You have a lesson in palace etiquette. I have done your hair with Rouge and Celly has your dress ready.”

Dressed in her nightshirt and her hair in the uncomfortable whorls pressing against her ears Leia was with Tia standing in the doorway to the office of Bail Organa where she spotted the two men usually found in the stables but now in their nightshirts. One even wearing a soft cloak. “Dad save me from these drill-masters. I want to go for a ride in the forest. Winter said that she went to the stable to ride her meari and...”

“There is a new husan for her.” Bail Organa began to smile. “Master Bale go to see Kara. And you Leia go with her to ride.” And turning to the aunt with a stern look. “Those lessons can wait aunt Tia.”

“Alright.” Tia stomped away.

Leia hurried away to her room. She had to dress for a ride with Winter.

“You bought new husans?”

“Yes Jika.” Bail replied, formal conversation not needed anymore with Tia away. “Winter found out this morning and is already in the stable. You can go but Magin has to stay for a message to Mon Mothma. Milindus Migilian is getting ready to travel to Malastare with his pod-racing stable and she can meet him there for new medicines, made in his factory.”

“I will go but first to my room.” Jika began to smile and pointed at his nightshirt. “I have to get my outdoor gear.”

“Go for a walk in the forest.” Magin Bhik said. “I am too old for that and...”

“Bring some living slithering wriggling fish in a bucket?” Jika smiled mischievous. Since his padawan days he had become a vegetarian.

“For Rouge, Celly and Tia.” Bail shook his head. The three aunts had an extreme dislike for everything fishy. “They will take a journey to the most expensive restaurant in Aldera if you come back with that.”

“I should bring the fish.” Jika said. “Aunts away Leia happy.”

“Valid point but Leia usually does what she wants, aunts fussing around her or not and always calling her Lelila. Go Jika and don't bring fish. You are a vegetarian. You need your new walking stick old friend. I have seen you busy making it out of that old fruit tree.”

“I will.” Jika walked to his room in the basement of the palace quite near the stables. He went to his fresher and dressed in outdoor gear. He opened the statue and took his lightsaber and had a smile on his face when he took his walking stick and put the lightsaber in the opening. 'That tale from my master Zomorian showing that walking stick made from a piece of the wroshyr tree given to him on Kashyyyk by that wookiee warrior who saved him and his padawan Tim Kirwin from a terentatek has inspired me to make this. And of course Magin commenting on my age and using his walking stick' were his thoughts when he walked to the stable to meet Winter.

She was saddling a nice brown husan and looked up from fastening the belt. “Master Bale, not busy with master Bhik?”

“No viceroy Organa sent me to the stables to see the new husan and I am going for a walk in the forest.”

“To catch fish?” Leia entered and took a saddle from the rack.

“No young lady, you know that...” Jika began.

“Tia, Celly and Rouge hate fish.” Winter said. “Saddle Naura. Master Bale is 81 and too old for that. See he is now using a walking stick like 86 year old master Bhik. And this is Kara.”

“Bought by my dad at the same farm?”

“Yes.” Winter saw that Leia had saddled Naura and mounted Kara.

Leia mounted Naura and guided her out with Winter following her. “Have a nice trip master Bale.”

Jika saw the two riders walking down the trail towards the forest and passing a stream. He followed at a sedate pace, knowing that he could catch up when needed but he didn't feel any discomfort. No imperials in the vicinity. Jika walked to the stream and smiled when he passed it and saw the fish slithering and swimming between the reeds and rocks.

 

Nice banter about being old and the aunts. Love Winter and Leia enjoying a ride in the forest.
