ok in the force lighting tutorials by PixelMagic in one of the steps it require you to use ps+ripple, now sense i cant find that i am guessing its a plugin correct??. would anyone know, if it is infact a plugin where i could get it or what the name of the plugin is called if its included in a bundle or something. i would also like any tutorials on force lighting so if anyone knows any good ones feel free to leave a link thanks for the help.

You don't need it, don't worry about it. Alternately, use my tutorial, it's in the sticky thread.

Well I (quite cleverly) made my own force lighning from scratch...no plug-in needed (seeing as I don't have it anyway). I made a kind of image sequence of the main bolt of lighning in photoshop (there were about 10 of these) and put them together in AE, screened the composition, added glows and sub-bolts etc on top of the footage, added perspective and BAM! force lighning.

When I wrote that tutorial, After Effects 5.5 did indeed have a plug-in called PS+Ripple. But since it doesn't anymore, don't worry about it. It's not completely nessecary.

I believe Funk-E says to use the Displacement Map as it works better but if you dont have the Pro version of AE then the Ripple seems to work fine to me when I used it before I upgraded to 6.0 Pro.

I'm not sure if Ripple will give the same effect. I seem to remember it creating different looking effects than the one I was after.

Well I dont know what you were after and to be honest I didnt notice much, if any difference when I used the Ripple function but it did seem to help some with blending it into the background. It could have just been my imagination but I did experiment with it for about half an hour and I think it helped some, it was hard to tell.
