[PSA] Landscapers: they're peeing on your lawn

My sister's friend is a landscaper, and he swears that it is universal landscaper etiquette to never, ever ask to use a client's bathroom. The preferred method is to hide behind a bush and pee on the lawn.

I find this utterly disgusting, but I guess I can see how some people would kick up a fuss if a guy covered in topsoil wanted to come in the house to use the toilet.

So what say you, JCC? If you were a landscaper, would risk a client's ire by asking to use their bathroom, or would you just go tinkle in the tulips?


P.S. I am taking it as a given that aty would poop in the driveway, cheerfully and often.

 

Talk about timely advice! I'm researching landscapers right this minute! I figure as they come to give me estimates, I'll add this to my list of questions:

"So...how do you deal with the peeing situation?"

If they say anything other than, "we were hoping to use your restroom", they're done.

 

Yeah I can't really imagine anything other than a polite request to use my bathroom. I'd only ever hire landscapers if I had strong endorsements from friends, so like to trust them.

Well then I suggest you refrain until a rate has been agreed. You are being taken for a fool.

 

I am thinking of people's properties and quite frankly how do they hide peeing in broad daylight on the front lawn or behind the bushes? I'd go in their backyard or on the side of the house so as to not be seen.

Or howz about spending a tad bit of cash from your vast profits and bring a port o poddy?

 

I called my daughter's bf who works as a landscaper to get his take on this. Apparently most times they do just find a private place and pee. Rarely do they ask to use a client's restroom, unless it is someone known very well.

When I asked him why not run to a gas station, he explained that that could take a chunk of time out of work which the customer is paying for.

Most of those working are not making vast profits as like many of us are only hourly employees and the really big companies aren't going to care where you pee or that you even do.

 

For me it would solely depend on how hot they are.

I don't mind them using the loo as long as they take their boots off. And most of them will do that.

One Melbourne Cup day we had landscapers, we invited them in to watch when it was time.

 

Most people who hire landscaping crews have a greenhouse or a cabana with a toilet in it.

That said, I pee outside all the time...because I can. One less flush, y'know?

Right, let me get this straight; the majority if the JC is pure filth because you don't wash your hands after going to the toilet (see the several threads i have made on the subject) yet someone peeing on your soil is bad? You do realise foxes and raccoons and rats pee all over it every day. Man up

under no circumstances should you allow a landscaper to set foot inside your abode. have him stand in the doorway and urinate into the house. your lawn is thus spared.

 

They shouldn't do either. They should act like adults and go before they come to work and someplace appropriate (not being the bushes or the client's house) on their breaks. Hold it otherwise, wussies.
