Mini Series Qimir the Stranger, who some may call a Sith and may or may not be a former smuggler

I think Qimir is a Sith Lord. And these unusual things are probably Sith artifacts. Do you guys think he’s just a smuggler or he’s living a double life as a Sith Lord?

 

That would be fun. His front being a smuggler bit he’s actually a Sith Lord

I can't picture a Sith Lord wasting his time being a smuggler, even if it is a front. Enjoying a life of leisure, perhaps, but not working as a trader himself. Qimir could possibly be employed by the Sith Lord on occasion.

I agree the 'unusual things' he procures may include some Sith-related artifact. Perhaps he stumbles on a holocron, or a Jedi killing blade, meets up with Mae, offers to sell it to her, and that in turn brings Mae to the attention of the secret Sith Lord.

 

Also I don’t know why so many people are dead set on this being plaguise. The Sith Lord that is

This season unlikely yess but who knows in future seasons. Like sooner or later we will come Across Tenebrous and Plagueis. Both are canon but that dosent mean they cant change their species to near human so easier to do them in live action. A Muun is mutch easier to do then a scary Bith

Darth Bane was a merchant for a period of time on Ciutric IV, usually getting dark-side or Sith related artifacts. But that was his chief disguise. Being a smuggler is not far fetched, I think.

 

Agree, especially for a Sith apprentice that had to travel through the galaxy a lot, executing missions for his master.

 

Yes, Bane started at the bottom (his backstory is now Legends I think - not sure if much about his life has been canonized). I'd hope, after 900-ish years, the Sith have placed themselves in a better position than resorting to smuggling because in the next 100 years, one of their ranks grows to Master of the Universe. To me, smuggler seems like the lowest of the low in the SW universe. Always on the run from the law, barely scraping by, doing the dangerous work for someone else, hoping that the next job will be the 'big one.' Doesn't scream Unlimited Power to me. I could believe the Sith Lord is running a large scale smuggling (better yet: pirate) operation, but not a small-time lackey himself like Qimir looks to be.

Although, now that I think about it more. I'm not sure what I imagine the Sith are up to at this point. I really have no idea. We know Palpatine 100-ish years later is a Senator. That's one of the more exciting elements of this series that I'm looking forward to seeing: how do the Sith operate in this time period? Are they mercenaries, pirates, crime bosses, smugglers? Hanging out on Ahch-To, studying the ancient texts, powering up, twirling their mustaches and evil laughing as they plot their revenge?

The mystery in this series is that someone is killing Jedi. I assume the persons responsible are either Sith or Sith Acolytes.
