    Is it good ?
    Which resolution does it record at ? 320*240 ? 640*480 ?

I couldnt find any *real* answers to those 2 questions on the web.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Is it MiniDV? If so, it probably records at 720 x 480.

It's a Digital-8 camera, right? I worked for a guy some years ago that used it to "film" weddings and such. It's a good 1 CCD camera, and I read that it's the same quality as a 1 CCD Mini-DV Camera. It certainly looks the same, anyway.

As for resolution, do you mean number of lines? I think it's 500 lines. It has a focus ring, jack for external mick and analogue input (you can use it as a analogue to digital bridge too). In later models Sony took away many of those improvements. Model TRV-140, for example, doesn't have any of those things.

    digital Hi8mm

    I think you're confused. lol.

There's 8mm, Hi8, Digital 8, and DV. Which is it?

If it's Digital 8 then you are recording at 720x480. Digital 8 is Sony's own brand of DV, so it would be just as good.

Way back in the day, I was contemplating between the TRV120 and the TRV520. Settled for the 520.

Anyways the TRV120 is a second generation Sony Digital8 camcorder (pixel sensor is clocked effectively at somewhere around 240K I believe).

Just to clear up some confusion, Digital8 uses analog Hi-8 tape, but force records with a digial signal (you get 1hr Digital8 on the same tape as 2hrs Hi-8).

If I were you, I'd go MiniDV.

Sounds like a pain in the ass rape of existing hardware resources.

In other words, sounds like a Sony product.

and what if its Hi8 ?

I'm pretty sure it's not Hi8, it's Digital 8. The difference is that Hi8 is analogue and Digital 8 is...well, you guessed! It's digital!

For amateur purposes Hi8 is very good. The image is great and you can record 2 hours in SP Mode.

    But I'm sure TRV-120 is a Digital 8 camera.
