Couldn't find this forum at first, so I'm a newb here. However, back in the spring of '99, everyone remembers when Pepsi products released 24 images of different Episode I characters on their soda cans. I spent that summer collecting them all and am wondering if anyone out their has the same collection. I don't know if the collection that the official store offers has what I'm about to ask on them, so just wondering if anyone collected them from the stores..

On each of the images of the Episode I characters is a word in capital letters. The word is pretty small and usually located new the edge of the image. I'm giving the collector's number, the character that's on the can, and the word that's printed on their image.

    PEPSI
    1 - Anakin Sykwalker - NEW
    2 - Sebulba - LURKS
    3 - Qui-Gon Jinn - BREAKS
    4 - Watto - BUT
    5 - Jabba the Hutt - THEIR
    6 - Senator Palpatine - FACE
    7 - R2-D2 - BUT
    8 - Darth Sidious - ENSLAVEMENT

    MOUNTAIN DEW
    9 - Darth Maul - DESTROYED
    10 - Jar Jar Binks - FUTURE
    11 - Mace Windu - MAY
    12 - Obi-Wan Kenobi - ANOTHER
    13 - Captain Panaka - ANAKIN
    14 - Rune Haako - IS
    15 - Ric Olie - FREE
    16 - Destroyer Droid - JEDI

    DIET PEPSI
    17 - Queen Amidala - BUT
    18 - Padme - NEARBY
    19 - Shmi Skywalker - IS
    20 - Battle Droid - TRIUMPH

    PEPSI ONE
    21 - Chancellor Valorum - MENACE
    22 - C-3PO - THE
    23 - Nute Gunray - CLOUDED
    24 - Boss Nass - ONE

In order, a few words go together. I was just wondering though if anyone has noticed this on their collection and, if so, knows what it means.

Check out this site. It has the 3 hidden messages spelled out (along with other can info).

I never saw a single TPM Pepsi can in stores. However, I did manage to get a complete collection of Pepsi bottles and Pepsi can boxes from ROTS.

BTW, for a blast from the past, check out the original Pepsi can thread from 1999.

SotS - I hope you are going to empty any RoTS cans before storing them. Some people had bad experiences with exploding TPM soda cans after awhile in storage or on display.

Hey, thanks a lot. It's cleared up.

Yeah, about two years ago I found a couple of Diet Pepsi's and Pepsi Ones had exploded. Fortunately, it was only through a little hole in the bottom. Had to dump them all out from there, but I still have them. Do the ones the official store offers have anything in them or are there no lids, or what?

CrazyMike or one of the other posters might know the answer to that one. I don't collect soda cans so I don't really know.

At C III, I saw that really cool can collector case with all the cans in it.

I am not sure about the SW cans, but I know that a friend of mine who collected certain collector's versions of Coke cans found out that the ones he received in display cases were filled with either water or inert liquid to prevent the cans from being easily compressed, crushed, and dented.

Actually, I didn't keep the cans, just the boxes (the cans themselves had nothing SW-related on them). But I emptied and cleaned out the bottles before storing them.

I have been collecting cans for years from all over the planet. I drain them by gently opening the tab and putting them into a sink full of cold water with ice and applying heat to the can which draws the liquid out. It works like a charm :)

This thread takes me back to 1999. Going to the University of Houston, working late at Kinkos, got a Mountain Dew out of the machine and was greeted to a green Darth Maul can. Star Wars was back! Good times.
