    Hey gang!

Any recomendations for places to find a good Qui Gon wig & facial hair? I figured I'd check with you guys before I begin a wild goose chase on Google. I'm definetly looking for high quality on these. I don't want it to look like I slapped a costume shop wig on his head and glued corn flakes to his face (allthough that would be DELICIOUS!)

Thanks in advance for any help.

For the facial hair I'd say grow out your own. Nothing looks as real as....Real hair. heh. For a wig I dunno. Never had to look for one before.

The problem is that our Qui Gon has jet black hair and I know dying facial hair is a big no-no. I know there's gotta be some nice appliances out there somewhere. I guess I'll have to do a mad search for them.

I don't know anything about wigs but there are people here who do. Give it some time...it's only been 12 hours and most of that in the middle of the night.

You don't have to permenantly dye facial hair. You can use water proof mascara to make it jet black. Also the applicator makes it a bit more simple. My husband had to do that to take the gray out of his beard for a part in a play. Hope that helps out a bit.

*lol* Sorry, I was a bit unclear. The gentleman who is dressing as Qui Gon has jet black hair and we need it to be brown for Qui Gon.

Allthough that tip will be really useful for another project I'm planning. Thanks! ^_^

Takianna- I read it the way you did at first too and was a little confused.

That said, if you want to go the mascara route for the facial hair you can get mascara in colors other than black. The site I posted for wigs(amphigory) does have brown mascara but I think it might be a little dark for qui-gon. You could try googling for colored mascara though.

Also: "Just for Men" makes a special dye for use on beards.

Yeah, I was just about to recommend you try "Just for Men" as well.

Also, there is another technique you could use for the facial hair that I saw people use for drama productions back when I was in High School. (I was a set painter, so I got to see a few good costuming tricks.)
You basically take the wig, and cut a small length of it off from an area that won't be noticeable.
Then you trim the extracted hair to the desired length. Once you've done that, use a small brush to apply Spirit Gum to the face, and tweezers to apply the hair (very gently, and only a few hairs at a time) to the Spirit Gum. Go slowly and make sure to apply the hair in thin layers for a more natural appearance.

It might take a while to apply, and maybe some practice to get the technique down.
But I've seen it done in person, and if it's done correctly, then it can look fantastic.
