    2. Awaits the resurrection
    3. Goes on living, reunites with body at resurrection, and then will be judged according to our works
and beliefs. Depending on the judgment received, a number of things could happen. None of whichi I believe are

Heh, funny. I JUST answered these questions. But I'll post my answers here as well so that people are shocked and appalled at the intense changes in beliefs that I've undergone in the last year or think that I've gone off the deep end:

    1. What do you think happens after you die?
I think death puts you into the same space that dreams do. There's an intense joy available in life I've come to learn (and there comes to be more and more of it available, neverendingly) . . . I think on a deeper level, everyone benefits from all that occurs in their lives and this deeper aspect only experiences the wonderful side of things- That's the whole point of life to me. To grow and expand, to become more, on a deeper level, on a group level, on an All That Is level. In death, I think you fully merge with that true eternal element again. :)

    2. What do you think happens to your body?
It serves whatever purpose others need it to fulfill . . . Like, it can be a reminder of your transition as they hold a funeral for it, etc. Rots or whatever. I guess it might be possible that some people or parts of people hang out and watch it and it serves some purpose for them. I don't think there's really any attachment to it for the person or thing or whatever that goes on, it seems like its purpose exists more for those still existing, still being physical. It's interesting to remember that your body is in a continual state of dying and being born again in small and large scales, however, with cells turning over and all that. :)

    3. What do you think happens to your soul [if you believe in souls]?
To me this is the same as question one, kind of. I don't think there's really a difference between your soul and your "consciousness."

I used to believe that consciousness ended with death. When I thought like that I wondered why people who believed in life after death would grieve so intensely because they should be believing they'll connect with the other one again. So now that I'm one of those who believe something goes on, I feel an extra intense joy about it. It's funny because I know that that old version of me would have believed that I only started believing in this to comfort myself. It's funny how you really don't have access to the truth of another's experience. Even if that other is a future version of you. :)

    Don't know.

    Don't know.

Don't know, and don't know if there are souls.

Not sure how I, or anyone else, could answer any differently.

the problem with answering "don't know" is that it seems to give as much credence to ridiculous notions as it does plausible ones. and that is unfair.

    1. Even after all this time I don't know what I believe. I'd be perfectly happy if nothing happens and death is the end. It wouldn't change who I am.

    2. I'll be cremated and my ashes given to my daughter who will find an appropriate resting place for them.

    3. Unsure, but the usual idea of heaven makes it sound like we'll all become sheep.

    1. Your relatives go through your stuff. They have one heck of a barbeque in your honor. The ones who hated your guts watch the NFC playoffs at the wake.

    2. Only your local perverted/necrophiliac undertaker knows for sure. You may not want to know this.

    3. Reincarnation depending what kind of a douche you were in real life. If you were less a douche you might get a second life as a valet or McDonald's manager. If you were more a douche you get to come back and be President.

    1. I believe you transcend to another plane of existence or possibly reincarnate depending on what you may not have learned on the earthplane.

    2. It decomposes.

    3. I believe we are souls in bodies, so....see number one.

    1. What do you think happens after you die?

    Consciousness ends.

    2. What do you think happens to your body?

    Cremation. Burial. It depends.

    3. What so you think happens to your soul [if you believe in souls]?[/quote]

    I don't believe in a soul.

Everton, I have to agree with epic. All because you can't absolutely disprove something (i.e. Santa Claus) doesn't mean it deserves the same respect as every other idea. That's my two cents, I'm not trying to convince you to change your mind or something.

The questions also ask what you 'think' happens. It's not asking you for proof. An answer other than 'don't know' is perfectly acceptable.

    1. What do you think happens after you die?

Your body releases its bowels, making a huge mess on top of whatever gore might be left over from your death, along with around 5 IVs that the hospital workers don't bother to turn off. Your kid, who is looking on and has been brainwashed by movies into thinking you will peacefully pass on as he closes your eyes, is scarred for life.

    2. What do you think happens to your body?

The hospital harasses your family about the $7,500 bill for a couple of months. Eventually they let up and you breathe a sigh of relief...but no, that's just because it's being going through the collections process. Your bill is now $12,000, your body is in cold storage forever in some giant morgue. Your loved ones spend the rest of their lives resenting you because they have to make $200 payments every month for the rest of their lives.

    3. What so you think happens to your soul [if you believe in souls]?[

Roams, upset because your family now hates you and your body has not been properly buried according to your wishes. You try to haunt the country, unsuccessfully, hoping that someday you will run into the Ghost Hunters. Because being heard on a re-run of a show by some nutball on ScyFy is SOMETHING compared to the miserable eternity you have to look forward to.
