R.I.P. Fred "Rerun" Berry

Apparently, Fred Berry, known to all that watched the late 70's tv show "What's Happening" as "Rerun" has died. He was 52. He had recently suffered a stroke, but was found at his home, and had apparently died of natural causes.

This is a shame. This thread for anyone who liked "Rerun" and his red beret and suspenders, and "What's Happening". I loved that show.

Never again will "Dynomite" fill me with the internal glee it once did as I remember this fallen hero from that same show...

I just saw him on "I love the 70's". He seemed so healthy! Hard to believe that John Ritter was older than him tho.

 

Yeah, but John was only older than Rerun by 2 years, Bluest.

DP--Rerun used to say "What's Happenin'!??"

 

Yeah, the tag line on What's Happening" was "Hey, hey, hey."

And yeah, Fat Albert had the same line. Just a different variation, that's all.

All of those shows blend together for me to the point of I think the Jeffersons, Bunkers, What's Happening crew and Good Times family was all from one show -- which spun off Benson and Gimme a Break...

Geez. First Mama, then Shirley, now Rerun. All the fat people on the show seem to be dropping like flies.

Well before he died he was charging 20 dollars to tlak to him on some celebrity hotline for 30 seconds

 

Oh man...I just saw him on "I Love the 70s"!
