Just a quick question. Is the Padawan rank of Commander the same as a clones rank. For example, would Anakin as a Padawan be of the same rank as Cmdr.Cody?
Heh, second time in a day or two I've whipped out the GGAR article. In the Order of Battle there, it says a clone commander is a rank higher, more or less, than a Padawan commander. A Padawan commander is in command of a regiment, a Senior Clone Commander heads a Legion, and a Clone Marshal Commander heads a Corp. Clone Marshals seem to usually be paired with Jedi Knights, so it would appear they are the same rank. And, for your example, I believe Cody was a Clone Marshal Commander, so he would have been higher rank than Anakin, until he was promoted to Knight. Then they would've been equal in rank. Edit: Just checked Wookiepedia, and it says Cody was indeed Clone Marshal Commander of the 7th Sky Corps.
Good job... So if I am reading that correctly, A Jedi General is equal to a Clone Marshall Commander?
Well, there are different ranks for the Jedi generals. A Knight general would be equal to a Clone Marshal, a Senior Jedi General (a Master) would be one up from that, and a High Jedi General (Council member) would be the highest Jedi rank, with only Palpatine above them in the chain of command.
So what rank does a Republic Senator hold in the GAR? Apparently that one clone that got thrown overboard with Padme answered to her as a superior officer or something >_>
In which case the clone should not have really been taking orders from her without some idea of what was going on >_>
